| | Re: Legomodular standards?
| (...) The GMLTC is planning on having two speed regulators for each track around our layout. We'll split the layout electrically, so we can have higher power on the uphill side, and lower power on the downhill side. We really have no idea how our (...) | (...) Hi Christopher! The First German Lego Train Club has only 3 active members, and at our last event Jan even had no chance to participate... But I started the club more or less as a possibility to get more responce from net community and other (...) (24 years ago, 15-Jun-00, to lugnet.trains)

| | A couple of pictures of the GMLTC layout at Carlsbad
| Ok, so I took the plunge and uploaded two (of the >200 I took) pictures from when we displayed our layout at LEGOLAND Carlsbad: (URL) for the *huge* file sizes, my 3.3megapixel camera takes BIG pictures, and I don't have the software here at work to (...) | | Re: Continous operation
| (...) The GMLTC uses two motors on each locomotive, and we're usually running four to six pieces of rolling stock behind one locomotive. We try to run each train for an hour or so, then give them a break. We've completed toasted a few motors, and we (...) (22 years ago, 9-Sep-02, to lugnet.trains)

| | Re: Greater Midwest LEGO Train Club (GMLTC)
| This is a low structure, fun loving kind of group. I've been hanging with them just about every Thursday for a few weeks now and they're great. I'm happy to say that I built them a 4 bay sanding tower for the new engine service module under (...) (26 years ago, 11-Mar-99, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general)

| Not that our minifig engineers would *need* that much sand;-) It was hilarious (no pun intended:) to watch Larry in FBM [1], using my son (&me!) as his brick fetchers, as he raced the clock to finish the tower before needing to leave to catch his (...) (26 years ago, 11-Mar-99, to lugnet.trains)

| We mostly hang around the Midwest-- the layout has been to North Dakota, La Crosse (last weekend), St. Paul (annual GATS), Mpls Metrodome (The Great Create, a charity event co-sponsored by, among others, TLG), and a few other places of which I am (...) (26 years ago, 21-Mar-99, to lugnet.trains)

| | Re: Train tables
| Mike- At the GMLTC, we use about a 30 x45" table (= to exactly 6 large gray baseplates) with metal folding legs. Our newest tables flare out to give us more room (6" IIRC): ___...___ l l l l l l l l l l l____l____l____l____...____l____l l l l l l l (...)
