| | Re: Why do we want to display?
| TRAINS, TRAINS, TRAINS!!! Sorry - I just had to say that. I don't have a problem with having other displays, but that just isn't where much of my interest is. I would like to do a nice Star Wars display, like NELUG had, but I don't have time for (...) (24 years ago, 10-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

| | Re: non-Lego elements
| (...) When the GMLTC does train shows, the standard question is "Is it all Lego?" We always tell people that we've used a few non-Lego decals, and the string on a couple of our truss bridges - although we chose string that looks as close to Lego (...) (24 years ago, 24-Aug-00, to lugnet.build)

| | Re: Wreck
| (...) Oh boy, can we relate to THAT picture! Except when trains derail on the GMLTC layout, they usually end up falling three feet to the floor. At one show, I was finding pieces to my locomotive underneath the layout next to ours! Dang - now I'm (...) (24 years ago, 21-Aug-00, to lugnet.trains)

| | Re: GMLTC at GATS?
| Mitch- You are indeed correct that we (the GMLTC) are "between layouts" and are currently without *any* layout. We are in the process of sorting back the bricks from the "old" layout and are beginning to plan out the "new" one. We hope to debut the (...) (24 years ago, 2-Oct-00, to lugnet.trains)

| | Re: Vision Command set
| (...) I picked one up at Target last week for $99.99. I haven't had a chance to play with it yet, because my pc here at home doesn't have a USB connection. So I bought this here laptop - just to run my MindStorms stuff. (Yea, I'm a GEEK...) It looks (...) (24 years ago, 22-Aug-00, to lugnet.robotics)

| | Re: Sponsorships (was: WWLTA)
| (...) Oh, I'll take this bait: LEGO paid about 80% of the costs to get the GMLTC and our layout out to Carlsbad. That's it. That's *every* "sponsorship" deal the GMLTC has ever received. We lose money on every show we do, even the occasional show (...) (24 years ago, 5-Sep-00, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.trains.org)

The latest photos (and also the best I can summon without buying a new camera!) are located here: (URL) (post-mod of course ;) ) and here's a couple of teaser pics (2 URLs) Oh yes, I put in a (...) | | Formal Letter to TLC?
| Hey everybody... I've noticed a lot of frustration recently by Lugnuts about TLC's lack of an explanation for 2001 set actions, neglect to do anything about copyrighted stolen images, and lack of communication in general to the community. From the (...) (24 years ago, 19-Aug-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.dear-lego) !!

SO many people don't realize that LEGO makes trains - we get comments like that all the time. What I would *really* like to (...) (24 years ago, 21-Aug-00, to lugnet.lego.direct)
