it's all a software config issue, there's nothing wrong with your hardware. two questions: 1. what is the root library file that loads when IC starts up, and 2. what files are listed there? f. it seems like the HB is not able to talk back to your PC. make sure the TxD signal starting from the 'hc11 is leaving the HB properly at the RJ11, reaching the interface bd, and then being cvt'ed to -10v to +10v levels out the interface bd on its (...) the exp bd inputs plug into the inputs on the main HB. so you still have to remove the pullup on the main HB. just cut the short trace on the underside of the board between the signal input pin and the pullup resistor. f. those two things together strongly suggest that your crystal isn't running. any chance you can get a scope or logic probe to verify this -- measure the E clock output of the 'hc11 (pin 5). also, check that you've properly installed a 2.2 megaohm (...)
