Re: NXT Motor Encoder Accuracy and Dead Reckoning

(...) I've played with it a good bit. It seems to be extremely accurate, in that one motor will slavishly follow the other - you can do demos like set a Move block to drive forward 10 rotations, and while it's trying to do that pick up the robot and (...) Dick, the article you referenced with the PID controller is excellent. I spent a lot of time trying to do a straight line with an RCX model a few years ago, but with a different approach: It was track-driven and the drive shaft extension on each (...) Brad - Many thanks for what you've achieved with Lego Direct. Shop-At-Home Europe, the My-Own-Train range, Legends, My-Own-Creation. Just getting the company to take these things, and us, seriously. All of these have made a hobby a lot more (...) (21 years ago, 29-Jan-04, to lugnet.lego)

City council results: NO, but fix the plan and come back. From the article: Among the problems: The proposal does not include a guaranteed revenue stream to pay for $64.3 million in bonds developers want the city to issue; public participation would (...) Thanks for the information. I am new and still learning. An example is that I bought a used kit off Ebay assuming Robolab would be included. Wrong, I was dead wrong (no fault of the seller just my inexperince). So now I am looking for a copy of (...) (18 years ago, 13-Aug-06, to lugnet.robotics)

The Story of the LMHoF - My Story

So I was told to go check out an article on the MechaHub web site concerning the History of the Lego Mecha Hall of Fame. I liked the story, though there is something terribly wrong with the facts in one section of the story. This is the truth, I am (...) (18 years ago, 12-Aug-06, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Nicely now. What do you think of the new colors?

(...) Hi, I am in the camp that likes the new colors, and I think the new light grey may be better than the old. But then, I have a pretty large collection of the old colors, and for what I do with LEGO, it's all I should need going forward. For me, (...)   Dirty Bricks '06 - Contest, Lego prizes and a bag of chips!

Well, the time has come again to have a nice friendly competition... There are contests that showcase a builder's skill. There are contests that showcase a builder's creativity. I think it's bad idea whose karmic boomerang will come back at TLG in more ways than I think any of us can now predict. 1. Compatibility no longer exists. I hope the Consumers Affairs division is ready to handle the increase in complaints. 2. Any (...) (21 years ago, 16-Jan-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general)

Hi Jake. Thanks for asking. This is my first post in regards to this topic, although I feel very strongly about it. My biggest concern is that this is an omen of things to come. After producing these colors for over twenty years, they are changed so (...) (21 years ago, 16-Jan-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general)

  NXT "remotes"

Things have been way too quiet on here for a long time now... Since I know I won't be getting much LEGO playing time at home anytime soon, and since I was headed out of town this past weekend, I took a page from Dave K's book and took my LEGO with (...)   Re: Nicely now. What do you think of the new colors?

The main reasons i do not like this color change: 1. They don't match the old ones. 2. When mixed, the old ones look like degradaded with time. The old light grey seem too much yellowed and i hate yellowed parts. (see this post: (URL) Storing will (...) (21 years ago, 16-Jan-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Nicely now. What do you think of the new colors?

(...) My take on the issue: For the new grey, the change is rather subtle and unless put right next to eachother I don't see much problems with using the color in new models I will make together with the old grey. For the new dark grey however (...) (21 years ago, 15-Jan-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general)

Without going too far down the 'I remember when' line. We all agree colour and colour range are an important aspect (even if the word is incorrectly spelt). Too me the Lego colours have also been a source of the charm of the product. The simple (...) (21 years ago, 15-Jan-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general)
