  Re: Memory question

(...) Most functions in NQC are in-line functions, so in a sense they probably *are* in main(). One thing I do is place all my initalization code (as much as possible) into inline functions. That way, when the compilier runs through, it can allocate (...) (19 years ago, 13-Dec-05, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

  Re: mindstorms NXT and memory

(...) I would be inclined to guess that the ARM is just the CPU core implemented in the same chip as all the other stuff the NXT uses. One of the huge reasons for picking the ARM is that it's very well suited to being integrated into the same chip (...) (19 years ago, 9-Jan-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Memory - Where did it go?

(...) Everything in NXT-G is a block that you drag and drop onto your program. All blocks in NXT-G are LabView Virtual Instruments (VIs). Some blocks expand into a loop construct. Others expand into a switch construct. They often represent (...) (18 years ago, 10-Jul-06, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) I'm not certain, but I think the file size will be basically the same for each resample option since the result is an 8k 8 bit mono file. There may be slight differences.   Re: Memory Usage

(...) Having written a few embedded-systems compilers, I must say that using floating point on an 8-bit chip like the H8 is generally considered crazy. The values eat memory, and the libraries drawn in can get really large (at least for a production (...) (24 years ago, 25-Mar-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  Tiniest LEGO USB memory stick?

I could not resist the challenge to try to craft what may be the tiniest LEGO USB memory stick out there. Was perusing the CDN Tire sales ad and found the Gizmo Jr. USB memory keys were on sale..   Messing with memory pool

I'm working on a custom firmware with a new VM. I'm currently trying to reuse the NXT-G memory pool to hold data for the new VM, but I'm running into problems. Apparently, doing a memset to set all of the pool to 0x00 causes the firmware to crash. (...) (17 years ago, 16-Jul-07, to lugnet.robotics.nxt.nxthacking)
