For those of you who have prepayed for the LEGO CD, I appologize profusely for the long wait. I posted over 2 weeks ago that they will be going out soon, but they didn't. (...) Steve, yes you will be getting the Limited Edition version of the CD. And also the "extra" CD with 89 other LEGO images on it! I inquired into making the LEGO CD as a book. All I can say is YIKES!! I checked with www.lulu.com ... a company that specialized in produced books for authors who don't want to go thru a publishing house.... and the price of making the LEGO CD (...) (18 years ago, 15-Dec-06, to lugnet.announce)

  LEGO CD Mailings....
 
Hi folks, The LEGO CD's are 2/3 mailed out. I got sidelined with a nasty sinus infections (taking antibiotics), and that slowed me down. The ZMAX (antibiotic) makes me soooo tired. zzz...zzz When the first person gets their LEGO CD, please post (to (...) (18 years ago, 20-Dec-06, to lugnet.announce) !

Even if you don't want to purchase a copy of the LEGO CD, I strongly urge you to get a free sample chapter.... because this is a very interesting chapter....   Using the Lego CD "FIND" Command.
 
I almost forgot.... One of the nice things about using the LEGO CD is how easy it is to use the FIND command to find a set number within a chapter. Someone on a local Detroit area Historic Preservation site asked me if "LEGO By Samsonite" meant that Samsonite sold the company to LEGO. The 1932 date is when toys were first produced. Prior to that, it's more Christiansen family business ventures. 1932 = startup of toys. 1949 = bought their first injection molding machine, and started making the Automatic Binding Bricks. The (...) (18 years ago, 24-Dec-06, to lugnet.general)

Thanks Jim! For questions relating to the history of the LEGO company and the Christiansen family, Jim Hughes is really the subject matter expert. He has done a lot of research about both, whereas my area of research is focused more on the LEGO sets (...) (18 years ago, 25-Dec-06, to lugnet.general)

1970 was a very tumultuous year at TLG. A lot of bad things were in progress at the same time.... 1) the USA Samsonite license fiasco. 2) the death of Hanne Christiansen. 3) a new law passed by the Italian parliament.
