  Lego Buildings with 4 Walls

I was looking at the #4886 Designers set in the Lugnet set database yesterday. And there were a few things that troubled me about it. Not the design per se, but just the whole concept of going from a "minifig" environment (3 walls, juniorized parts, (...) (20 years ago, 1-May-05, to lugnet.general)

(...) And you may be right. Perhaps the AFOL community (even with the addition of a smaller scale architectural line) are just not significant enough of a population to warrant ever getting special parts not produced for the general public. (...) (...) (20 years ago, 1-May-05, to lugnet.general)

  Re: new scans posted

(...) Nice photos Dave! I love the Doll Furniture set. It predates the Homemaker/Big People sets by a few years. It looks kinda lonely, all that furniture and no people. Samsonite (USA/Canada) Lego was kind of a trend setter. They had gears (1965) 5 (...) (20 years ago, 3-May-05, to lugnet.general, lugnet.inst)

Re: LEGO® Group wins lawsuit in Finland

(...) SNIP This is good new. Lego has been plagued by clones for as long as Lego has been produced. I received a quantity of slotted Lego bricks (1949-57) from a Danish seller. And in that assortment (about 1000 bricks) there were about 30 clones. (...) (19 years ago, 6-May-05, to lugnet.general, FTX)

(...) The studs unadorned. The middle had a slight raised area, which for lack of a better term looked somewhat like a "nipple", with concentric circles around them (probably from the mold milling machine). I have examples of these clones in red, (...) (19 years ago, 9-May-05, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Original vs. Copy: Printed Lego Items

I received a 1964 Danish catalog from a European collector recently. Since I got if for free (after buying some other items), I thought it was great. The one sheet (two sided) catalog is in such great condition, I was wondering if it wasn't a (...) (19 years ago, 13-May-05, to lugnet.general)

Re: Introducing the LEGO Affiliate Program

(...) I'm surprised Eric Harshbarger's name is not on that list. He's done some magnificent work with his Lego furniture, mosaic's and sculptures. He's created a whole new genre of Lego ideas. He did make it out of last summer's hurricane season, (...) (19 years ago, 14-May-05, to lugnet.lego, FTX)

(...) Here's something that would really set the AFOL community into an uproar.... what if the affiliates were able to get bricks (or parts) in bulk that were not available to the general AFOL community.   The Dark Ages of Lego in the USA

Just like many AFOL's/ALE's, USA Lego went thru the dark ages. Interestingly enough, it was around the same time I went thru my own dark ages. The years were the 1970's. In the beginning of the 1970's USA Lego sales were licensed to the Samsonite (...) (19 years ago, 30-May-05, to lugnet.general) !!
