Re: 10 things I'd like to do at an AFOL convention...

(...) I think combining themes was fun at DixieLUG - we got a kick out of it. Check out Eric's Penguin attacking my castle if you missed it before: (URL) just make sure you have a variety of people with a variety of tastes;) -- pn (26 years ago, 24-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Expensive Legos!!

(...) I paid around $ 230 for SES. But no S&H, and I got a brand new unopened set immediately. S&H to Argentina can be very expensive for a big set like that, plus the risk of it getting lost. I'm not so sure it would be a good alternative. On top (...) (26 years ago, 24-Jan-00, to lugnet.pirates)

John (and others, except James Powell who no doubt knows this already) You toss around "G Scale" a lot but unlike most other gauges, G isn't really just one scale. LGB is narrow gauge and thus is to a bigger scale (22:5 to 1??) than some of the (...) (26 years ago, 24-Jan-00, to lugnet.trains)

(...) Not really true. If you accept that the track gauge is 5 studs, then 3x5=15, which is the maxiumum proportion one should use (3x the track gauge is how wide the maximum normal load should be) For example, the SRRL #9 (2-4-4T was 7'3" wide, on (...)   Re: Palm Trees: old segmented vs. new one piece

(...) Oh, quit complaining... Frank and I could BOTH be active on eBay at the same time. Fortunately for you, we're not. (ALTHOUGH... I AM the reason that WB ran out of everything.) (26 years ago, 24-Jan-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.pirates, lugnet.adventurers)

  Evil character

Fellow brick junkies, All those posts about armies, races, Castle World and special characters inspired me to create a special leader for my dark forces. I haven't found the right name for him yet, but then again, he's not completey finished yet (...) (26 years ago, 24-Jan-00, to lugnet.castle)

Perhaps some of you saw the Jan/Feb Mania magazine, with its announcement of a National Convention of the LEGO club. Inside, there is a survey of what club members (who are all assumed to be kids) would like to do at the convention. I think they (...) (26 years ago, 17-Jun-99, to lugnet.general)
