The Polaroid sonar detects objects within about a 10-degree cone. It (...) (27 years ago, 3-Nov-98, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Thoughts on 1999 sets

(...) It's LEGO. There's only so much that can be done in the way of scale-modeling realism. If they wanted to make an accurate scale model, they'd have to make a bunch of specialized new structural pieces. Which is what most of us were afraid would (...) (...) I'll bet these are the new gun-lance pieces, as featured in the X-Wing and Snow Speeder. (...) I like the look of the new foliage. They go nicely with the bamboo leaves. Now we just need tan 1x1 cylinder bricks, so we can make some bamboo. (...) (27 years ago, 3-Nov-98, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Thoughts on 1999 sets

  Re: Thoughts on 1999 sets

(...) I like the X-wing design. I think it is quite well done. I can see it will need some modification for retractable landing gear, though. So does the Y-wing. I think the Y-wing is the best design of the ships they show. I like the TIE fighter (...) (27 years ago, 3-Nov-98, to lugnet.general)

Re: LUGnet historical moment -- (was: Got 1999 mini catalog!)

(...) I've certainly done the same as well. For awhile things got too busy at work for me to have time to keep up with RTL. Then lugnet came online, and I basically stopped going to RTL. I much prefer the way lugnet is organized. (27 years ago, 3-Nov-98, to lugnet.general, lugnet.admin.general)
