  Re: Robot navigation

(...) Here is an Idea. If you know where you are sort of, then you can program an object into memory at a certian distance(a wall perhaps). Once the robot hits something, it checks to see if it is about at the distance programmed into it. If it is, (...) (25 years ago, 29-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

If you have an abnormal foot size why do you need to buy twice as many shoes as those who do not? I could understand if you had an abnormal foot or something which would create an odd wear pattern on a certain part of the shoe but would just a (...) (25 years ago, 29-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: More scale questions (Was: Scale of Lego)

I checked out the low-end modelling market (Wal-Mart) and saw these scales: automobile -- 1:24 and 1:25 sci-fi -- 1:48 (O scale) military aircraft -- 1:72 1:48 naval (special on RMS Titanic :-P) -- 1:570 So, taking that and some great stuff from (...)   DK books

I got my "Amazing Animals" and "Fabulous Figures" books today... I'll post a fuller review later, but breifly, - Each has about instructions for about 20 models - The images are ray-traced and very good quality. The studs even have 'LEGO' on them - (...)   McDonald's Happy Meals Sets -- modified parts

This is interesting. The printed slopes (3x2 33º) in the McDonald's sets are slightly modified from the standard form. The most noticeable difference is that the sloped & printed surface is smooth, instead of matte. Looking inside the bricks, I (...) (25 years ago, 29-Oct-99, to lugnet.promo)

Re: More scale questions (Was: Scale of Lego)

(...) 4mm/ft? Crossing measuring systems surprises me, but I can see its usefulness in the name of accuracy. So 4mm/ft is roughly 1:76.2 . What does the 18.83 mean? Is this in any way related to the 28mm wargaming scale? Cheers, - jsproat (25 years ago, 29-Oct-99, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build)
