So, I got sent home early from work today, due to the hurricane and all. Good thing because 1) I'd left our windows open 2) Kenmore Square is apparently flooded and it woulda been hard to get home later and, most importantly, 3) I made a cool lego (...)   Decoding the LEGO IR remote control
 
Hello All - - I'm interested in using a LEGO IR remote control to control other things besides the RCX. Has anyone here done any PIC development along these lines? I would like to use a PIC to decode the output of a Sharp GP1U581Y and convert the 16 (...) (27 years ago, 17-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

I have a real nice HO layout power pack with handheld remote laying around but no speed regulator. I have started buying some train stuff but if I just buy the speed regulator power to rail connectors from Shop at Home, can I just wire those into (...) (27 years ago, 17-Sep-99, to lugnet.trains)

OK, I have a pretty good working solution. I used "contact cement": The SOLVENT kind, not the Water Based kind. I did two experiments in attaching .002 inch thick copper foil to the Lego bricks. The copper foil has a self- adhesive coating to start (...) (27 years ago, 17-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics)
