  Re: Aw, no SNOT?

(...) I know how important it is for many people to have no studs showing on anything they build, but that being said and since this is just my opinion, please take it for what it is worth, I personally do not see the need to cover every little stud (...)   Aw, no SNOT?

This being my first Lego con, I was looking forward to learning a bit about SNOT building techniques; I'm always floored when I see examples of it, but never feel inspired on how to do it myself. I guess there's no presentations or workshops about (...) (15 years ago, 11-Jun-09, to lugnet.events.brickworld)

Re: Has Anyone Tried This and Will it Work?

(...) I think the real intent was not so much installing a second motor, but actually powering the PF motor, or even a second PF motor from the 9V rail. Using the 9V truck to pick up power from the track and using the 8886 extension wire to convert (...) (15 years ago, 11-Jun-09, to lugnet.trains)

Re: LPub Bad results with LDView

(...) uses the opengl hardware on the video card to do the offscreen rendering. Maybe the card is running out of memory at the higher dpi? What does LDView report about your opengl driver? Maybe that'll provide a clue. (15 years ago, 11-Jun-09, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Has Anyone Tried This and Will it Work?

(...) Interesting idea, Clifton. I would be very interested to see if this works and if it is 'safe' for the motors. One thing to keep in mind though is that 9V motor failure tends to be more tied to the internal power leads that connect the wheels (...) (15 years ago, 11-Jun-09, to lugnet.trains)

Re: LPub Bad results with LDView

(...) Sounds not good. At present I have no idea what the problem could cause. But LDView should not be the problem as you can see the parts correctly there. So it has to be the connection between both. Did you try in LPub - "Clear assembly image (...) (15 years ago, 11-Jun-09, to lugnet.cad)

Re: LPub Bad results with LDView

(...) Full version information of LDView was 4.0 beta 1 (1 Dec. 2008) I have now updated to LDView 4.0.1 (7.Feb.2009) but the colouring problem persists. (15 years ago, 11-Jun-09, to lugnet.cad)

Re: LPub Bad results with LDView

(...) As I do not have LPub 4.0.0.2 I can not give good comments. Is LDView 4.0.1 (7.Feb.2009) ? (only to be sure to compare the right things.) cu mikeheide (15 years ago, 11-Jun-09, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Taj Mahal MOC and TAJ the movie

(...) Wow! This is a fantastic MOC! Is the top of the front left minnaret supposed to be one round 2x2 plate shorter? (under the 2x2 dome piece?) I don't know why, I just noticed it. Good scaled down dome, forms & colors/textures! Jeff (15 years ago, 11-Jun-09, to lugnet.build.microscale, FTX)

Taj Mahal MOC and TAJ the movie

Taj Mahal. This is the 4th time I've built this amazing landmark; each at a different scale. This one is by far the smallest with the central structure having a width of only 16 studs.   LPub Bad results with LDView

I have tried with several versions of LDview and for some reason some parts are not correctly coloured: The Hinge car roof (4213) and PLate 2x2 with wheel holders (4600) in the PLI are only partly coloured (50% diagonally). Part of the steering (...) (15 years ago, 10-Jun-09, to lugnet.cad)

Has Anyone Tried This and Will it Work?

The below information was posted on the WAMALTC site. I know the new motors run on a 7.4V as opposed to 9V, but can this work? Ben, I am hoping you can provide some insight. Has anybody tried to use the new motor with an old motor where they (...) (15 years ago, 10-Jun-09, to lugnet.trains)
