Re: Space Corridors for the new Comand Center-Classic Space

(...) These are a great start at a moonbase. It looks like the hallways aren't quite long enough, though. They should be the exact size of a large baseplate, with 48 studs from one end to the other. These look like they're around 44 studs. -- Tony (...) (17 years ago, 19-Dec-07, to lugnet.space)

  RIS 2.0 software

I just gave my 12 year old daughter a RIS 1.0 (yep, an original one with the 1.0 RCX) set for her birthday. Unfortunately, it looks like the software supplied with the set doesn't seem to work with XP (it seems to install, but doesn't want to run). (...) (17 years ago, 16-Dec-07, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: LEGO 9V Train Communication II

(...) If someone can get hold of Mark Riley and have him 'fix up' LDCC to be 'Power Functions/RC Train' IR compatible instead of DCC, that'd be a quick fix :) The rest is already built in--remote control, LACC, etc... Dave K (17 years ago, 19-Dec-07, to lugnet.trains)

Re: LEGO 9V Train Communication II

(...) I've got to say if I muttered those words aloud, my wife would likely come at me with a large blunt object :). But I agree - I need to lay hands on an IR train and start working out more of this myself as well. (17 years ago, 19-Dec-07, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Bacon popcorn, - was something about my 24hr of my first day off

(...) I read this post a few days ago; it was like watching the unfolding of a beautiful, yet strangely intriguing culinary horror story. Something that I want to try, but feel dirty for admitting it. Then I remember somebody sending me this link: (...) (17 years ago, 19-Dec-07, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: general gaming Q: multiple dice vs. die+bonuses

(...) Another difference is that there's a large variance in Ad6, and very little variance in 1d6+A. With A=4 (for instance) you get Ad6 resulting between 4 and 24, which is a huge range. With 1d6+A, you get between 5 and 10. For that reason, I'd (...) (17 years ago, 19-Dec-07, to lugnet.gaming, FTX)

general gaming Q: multiple dice vs. die+bonuses

I'm in the throes of designing a LEGO space battle game. I'm borrowing some ideas from Full Thrust, at Wayne's suggestion, but I'm probably going to monkey with the combat substantially. For example, I really like giving the defender a defense roll, (...) (17 years ago, 19-Dec-07, to lugnet.gaming, FTX)

Re: LEGO 9V Train Communication II

(...) Brian, the more I read this, the more I am with you. I think I really need to re-think my LEGO budget for next year... Three trains sounds like fair enough to me, since our house is not supposed to grow and the trains need some space to be (...) (17 years ago, 19-Dec-07, to lugnet.trains)

Re: LEGO 9V Train Communication II

(...) I'm pretty sure the RCX could be programmed to throw PF control messages... and while this would be a lot cheaper from a HW standpoint at the moment, I'm not sure it would be long-term. Right now the RCX is cheap(er) on eBay, but as they (...) (17 years ago, 19-Dec-07, to lugnet.trains)

Re: LEGO 9V Train Communication II

(...) On second thought, that doesn't look all that bad actually. Provided there is a way to eventually control more than one train and set up several IR interfaces (for positions where the optical link would otherwise fail) with a single RCX, the (...) (17 years ago, 19-Dec-07, to lugnet.trains)
