Re: BrickJournal 9 is OUT, as well as other news!

(...) Really? I have received free coffee, chocolates, cable channels, newspapers, magazines, laundry detergent, phone services and dozens more goods and services. Eventually the free trial period ends and if you want access to the goods and (...) (17 years ago, 17-Oct-07, to lugnet.publish.brickjournal, FTX)

Re: Previous step color scaling  [DAT]

(...) Correct. Technically, the prel3p commands affect color substitution on following lines, so you'll need to insert code in two places: once at the beginning of the model to use the "faded" colors, and again at whatever point you wish to restore (...) (17 years ago, 17-Oct-07, to lugnet.cad)

Re: BrickJournal 9 is OUT, as well as other news!

(...) That may not true. I am working on that, however, I have no definites. I won't announce until then. Joe (17 years ago, 17-Oct-07, to lugnet.publish.brickjournal)

Re: Highly confused about Library Updates for MLCad

(...) Hello Christopher, I will not go into the same level of details as previous replies in this thread, but rather reply in a more general way. First of all, you make a mistake if you call it "Library Updates for MLCad". In one way, yes they are (...) (17 years ago, 17-Oct-07, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Brickshelf Status-- any update???

(...) Once upon a time, it was a very special and unique thing to offer free image hosting. Once upon a time Kevin was a regular participant on LUGNET and an active member of the AFOL community. And once upon a time, Brickshelf was a state of the (...) (17 years ago, 17-Oct-07, to lugnet.general, lugnet.ambassadors, FTX)

Re: BrickJournal 9 is OUT, as well as other news!

(...) That thread was talking about the new issues (from issue 10 onward). I'm talking about the existing issues that were previously made available for free. Once something's been released for free, it seems wrong to me to start charging for it (...) (17 years ago, 17-Oct-07, to lugnet.publish.brickjournal, FTX)

Re: BrickJournal 9 is OUT, as well as other news!

(...) The PDF is not expensive, it is expensive to get the printed issue (ok specialty magazines are expensive, I know) but the worst thing is that Europeans AFOL cannot buy at all the printed BJ because it is sold only within US. Luca (17 years ago, 17-Oct-07, to lugnet.publish.brickjournal)

Re: BrickJournal 9 is OUT, as well as other news!

(...) It was a matter of time - the biggest challenge has been getting things lined up. (...) I am working on that - there will be a display ad level and a classified ad level. Classified will have a specific section, like any classified section in (...) (17 years ago, 17-Oct-07, to lugnet.publish.brickjournal, FTX)

  Re: Bricksmith patches

(...) I have given Jim access to submit this change directly into Bricksmith's source code. Thanks, Jim, for wanting to improve my software. If a good, well-integrated, well-presented (and already coded) idea comes along, there's no reason for it (...) (17 years ago, 17-Oct-07, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac, FTX)

  Re: Bridgelayer

Very nicely done. You can really see the positive effects of all the work in conception in this MOC. The function itself is very impressive, especially for plastic! God Bless, Nathan (17 years ago, 17-Oct-07, to lugnet.build.military)

(17 years ago, 17-Oct-07, to lugnet.org.it.itlug)

  Re: A power rail idea

(...) Not a bad idea. However, I used to have a decent layout in the 70's (my Dark Ages) using the 12V system, which is not too far from what you are proposing. It would require Lego to come up with new parts, including a complicated switch. Also, I (...) (17 years ago, 17-Oct-07, to lugnet.trains)

  Ten brick contest entries?

I saw a film someplace a while back with a swan and duck that was limited to ten pieces for a contest. Any idea where I could find more films from that contest? My searches have been fruitless. -Suz (17 years ago, 17-Oct-07, to lugnet.animation)

Source Code Changes in NXT Firmware Version 1.05

I haven't seen it previously mentioned but the open source firmware for version 1.05 is downloadable from the LEGO Mindstorms web site. I did a WINDIFF on the various source files to see what has changed in this release. I then manually examined the (...) (17 years ago, 17-Oct-07, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.robotics.nxt)

Re: Powering 9v Trains using the NXT

(...) Are you using the NXT on batteries alone, or using the Li-ion battery pack so you can plug the NXT into a wall for more consistant power? (...) As others have noted, this has worked well with the RCX. It's essentially how the GBC trains are (...) (17 years ago, 17-Oct-07, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.org.us.ulug)

  Re: Two more interlocking puzzles

(...) Allan, I'm glad to hear you like my puzzles. Making the puzzles "aesthetically pleasing" was of course the biggest challenge: the choice of colour (tan) makes them look like they're made of a soft kind of wood (e.g. deal), and I didn't want a (...) (17 years ago, 17-Oct-07, to lugnet.build)

  Re: LTC question

(...) Thanks for the insightful reply Tommy. If I do get the recognition I so desperately crave, I will certainly go to you for all my KeithLUG / KeithLTC brick engraving needs. I'm already thinking of all the tag-lines to come out of that weekend (...) (17 years ago, 17-Oct-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)
