  Re: Brickfair is official....

(...) The names are proprietary; they are owned by various people. The name BrickFest is a bit debatable (I think 4 people claim rights to it) but one person commands $3,000 fee to use it. I figured, "To heck with that, I'll start my own name and (...) (17 years ago, 15-Oct-07, to lugnet.events, FTX)

  Re: New POV-dat: 3062bL46.dat - Brick 1 x 1 Round Yellow with POV Light

(...) Sorry, don't have the time to make models right now. I am currently writing a program to automatically create dat files of "shining" parts. I call it datshine.exe and I am very excited over it. Well, here's one quite strange model I rushed (...) (17 years ago, 15-Oct-07, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: A power rail idea

With all the advances in battery (rechargeable and otherwise) technology these days, you might be a little shortsighted in your estimation of the feasibility of battery trains. But assuming you are correct, my biggest concern about this idea is the (...) (17 years ago, 15-Oct-07, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Brickfair is official....

(...) Sounds great. But what's the deal with the name change? Why does every brick conference have to have a new name? I don't really care what name we used. For years, Brickfest was the standard name for this event, but now I guess those are only (...) (17 years ago, 15-Oct-07, to lugnet.events, FTX)

Re: Call for Nominations: 2007/2008 LDraw.org Standards Committee (LSC)

(...) Thanks to Travis for nominating me and to Orion for bringing the nomination to my attention. Unfortunately I gather that the deadline to formally accept or decline has passed. However, as I just explained to Orion, "since I'm not very familiar (...) (17 years ago, 15-Oct-07, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: Surprise! ULUG will be attending the Train Show in Idaho Falls, Idaho

(...) The show was a success! In the end only Reed and I were able to attend. Attempting to set-up and take down a 10 table lay-out with only two people turned out to be quite a task! We were exhausted but well rewarded by the enthusiasm of the show (...) (17 years ago, 15-Oct-07, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.org.us.ulug)

  Re: Previous step color scaling

(...) I can't be sure, but it appears that LPub modifies the POV files that come out of L3P in order to get that effect, instead of modifying the LDraw files it sends to L3P/LDView/LDGLite. So until this is changed in LPub, it doesn't appear that (...) (17 years ago, 15-Oct-07, to lugnet.cad)

  Previous step color scaling

Hi all, I am looking for a way to render fast top view images and thus creating images like the original LEGO instructions they use in the Statue of Liberty. To do top view rendering was answered in another question I asked. Would it be possible to (...) (17 years ago, 15-Oct-07, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Brickfair is official....

(...) No need to apologize. As I said it will not be that many people affected and really, how many Brick events can we all go to every year? :) Of course I would like to go to this one because I actually lived about ten minutes away from Tysons (...)   Re: Do you care about the perception of AFOLs/ALEs in the wider community?

(...) Nope, I like building (OK, I'll correct that, I like the idea of building but rarely get any done!) and I like talking about it with other AFOL (or KFOLS), people who are interested. I have no interest in what other people think. (...) Again, (...) (17 years ago, 15-Oct-07, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Brickfair is official....

(...) Todd, I think the choice of dates is about as good as it could be. For me, summer is best (as I recall, fall starts sometime after labor day). The thought of driving 600 miles with my MOCs in Feb/Mar is not pleasant. I suspect the 10 hour trip (...) (17 years ago, 15-Oct-07, to lugnet.events)

The demise of the urban landscape

Greetings, Due to a move in the near future I will have to break down my layout and will likely have to put a lot of my lego in storage. Over the years I have had some requests for purchasing some of my models. With that in mind, if there is (...) (17 years ago, 15-Oct-07, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

  Re: Brickfair is official....

  Re: Brickfair is official....

(...) I'm sorry if anyone is put off by the timing of the event. Ultimately, when it comes to timing, you cannot possibly please everyone. The possibility of a Spring or Fall event was suggested to me. But my only experience with Lego festivals is (...) (17 years ago, 15-Oct-07, to lugnet.events, FTX)
