  New rule for SOTM/MOTM

Dear all, We have decided to introduce an additional rule to the MOTM and SOTM contests on LDraw.org in order to make them a little more interesting. We will now only run these contests if there are a minimum of five entries. The current situation (...) (19 years ago, 22-Aug-07, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw, lugnet.announce) !

  Re: mindstorms sdk

(...) I think you might very well be right since some things just don't seem to work right for some folks who have tried that particular IOMap. But I haven't been able to find where it is off yet. Which offset were you trying to use? You need to (...) (19 years ago, 21-Aug-07, to lugnet.robotics.nxt)

Re: LDraw File Format Spec 1.0 DRAFT - Call for Public Comments

(...) I'm new to this community, and am just learning 3D graphics, but I will comment on this as someone who will eventually use this file format to read in and render these parts in 3D. 1. Character encoding - for a file spec, not specifying this (...) (19 years ago, 21-Aug-07, to lugnet.cad)

Re: what makes a good engine shed?

(...) Just looked at your link after posting my previous message, the clerestory roof is another interesting way of doing it. Tim (19 years ago, 21-Aug-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

(...) I actually googled the images to suit the example I thought of rather than having them saved. . In the UK many larger sheds had Northlights, i.e. a ridged roof with glass in the north facing slopes to get the best light. Often the ridges were (...)   Re: LDraw File Format Spec 1.0 DRAFT - Call for Public Comments

(...) I think the original suggestion that we mention that it is in row-major format is valid. I agree that the fact that OpenGL (almost certainly one of the top two most used 3D APIs on the planet) uses column major format is a good reason to (...) (19 years ago, 21-Aug-07, to lugnet.cad)

Re: LDraw File Format Spec 1.0 DRAFT - Call for Public Comments

(...) The "so-what" would be that I, as someone who will eventually read in these files to create OpenGL renderings of them, would expect the matrices to be in column-major order, unless explicitly stated otherwise. Rob (19 years ago, 21-Aug-07, to lugnet.cad)

(...) That's a nice locomotive! Seeing models like this that so closely resemble the trains I have seen near my house is neat. Jim (19 years ago, 21-Aug-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: LDraw File Format Spec 1.0 DRAFT - Call for Public Comments

(...) Umm, so what? LDraw is not, and should not, be dependent on OpenGL. Having worked with transformation matrix in both formats, I find the row-major format much easier to hand-edit than column-major organization. At least for LDraw-type usage (...) (19 years ago, 21-Aug-07, to lugnet.cad)
