  Re: Anyone home?

(...) I am currently staying with a friend for a while so I can't host anything. Is there a possibility of meeting any of you sometime for a drink or dinner? Aside from meetings my old lug would also have regular dinners at a bar and grill. Fradel (19 years ago, 18-May-07, to lugnet.org.us.sandlug)

Re: Informations on new TECHNIC element and color coded parts

(...) Agreed. Which is when I'd need to go to Bricklink, or hopefully other themes, to try to get the part I want in the color I want. My point was for the Technic *theme*, standardized colors to highlight function or make finding small pieces (...) (19 years ago, 18-May-07, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Hotrod and bike - shiny vehicles

--snip-- (...) It may be. I don't really know how long it should be :em: (...) That would definitely be a good thing. I was going to apply some stickers but forgot about it. (...) Thanks, Tim (19 years ago, 18-May-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: Hotrod and bike - shiny vehicles

(...) Very nice work, as always, Tim. I wonder if the bodywork of the hotrod isn't just a bit on the small side? Or if it couldn't do with some detail to break up the stark red? Spotlighted. Thanks for sharing. Cheers Richie Dulin (19 years ago, 18-May-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: Informations on new TECHNIC element and color coded parts

(...) "TECHNIC building uses the "module" or "M" as a measurement of length. 1 M is the distance from the center of one hole on a TECHNIC beam to the center of the next hole. " So a 3 L studless beam is actually 2M Steve (19 years ago, 18-May-07, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.lego, FTX)

Re: LDD Model of GG-1 Electric Locomotive - Advice Requested

(...) My (URL) breakdown crane> has 3 axle trucks using standard LEGO wheelsets, and traverses points just fine, although it does have 4 weight bricks holding it down. ROSCO (19 years ago, 18-May-07, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad.ldd, FTX)

Re: LDD Model of GG-1 Electric Locomotive - Advice Requested

(...) A brief update ... I got it built a while ago but only today tried putting it on the tracks. Bad news, I'm afraid. To make it work on LEGO curves, you need to remove the 4x6 tile with technic peg from the 3-axle trucks and add some tiles (...) (19 years ago, 18-May-07, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad.ldd, FTX)

  Wikicraft Barnstar

Re: Informations on new TECHNIC element and color coded parts

(...) I'm guessing they didn't want to use lt grey because they don't think kids can easily distinguish pins and axle pins. "Standard" colour of frictionless pins is lt grey. ROSCO (19 years ago, 18-May-07, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.lego, FTX)

Re: Informations on new TECHNIC element and color coded parts

(...) Dark Bley looks a lot like black in the instructions, I think that was the thinking there. And I don't know if white 2L(*) would be any better than red, from a standing-out point of view. So, maybe Light Bley for friction axle pins, and Tan (...) (19 years ago, 18-May-07, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.lego, FTX)

Re: Informations on new TECHNIC element and color coded parts

Re: Informations on new TECHNIC element and color coded parts

(...) On this, i completely agree. They are two extremely similar parts, and I believe colour standardisation is needed. However, blue and tan ? Frictionless Axle pins were grey, Axle pins with friction were black. Easily distinguishable, neutral (...) (19 years ago, 17-May-07, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.lego, FTX)

Re: Informations on new TECHNIC element and color coded parts

(...) I see two side to this comment. I completely agree with your comment about colour coded parts distorting the realism of a set, however i believe some parts do not need to be produced in all colours such as gears, hence financial saving could (...)   Re: Mark's Pad

(...) Sorry for not posting sooner, life has been upside down lately . . . This is fabulous! Great use of parts and colors. Nice to see a town MOC from you. I knew you'd come. :o) Hope to see more. Jonathan (19 years ago, 17-May-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)
