Re: RCX controlled GBC train drawbridge

(...) Not long at all. With the 3'+ slopping double-beam track I had at BF '06, I think it only took less than five seconds for them to clear the end... and that was for a *very* shallow slope. Given the time it takes to lift and lower the bridge, (...) (19 years ago, 7-Feb-07, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

Re: NASA IS GOING BACK BABY

(...) The problem is rockets use reaction mass, and need to carry it along, so the rocket equation enters into everything you do. And honestly a rocket is not a very good way to use the energy: you have to launch at high speed (rocket equation (...) (19 years ago, 6-Feb-07, to lugnet.space)

Re: Gorilla and Arm: two new mecha

Excellent models Tim. The gorilla is a nice take on the Power Suit. I'm not fond of yellow but it works well here. The other is interesting. It's good to see some mecha builders who aren't afraid to try some new things. (19 years ago, 6-Feb-07, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Straight LEGO Country Flags of 70's and 80's

I've made a small error in my pervious post: In the last paragraph, please substitute "the UK branch of the firm operated under the name Lever Brothers up until 1990" with "the US branch of the firm ..." (19 years ago, 6-Feb-07, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Straight LEGO Country Flags of 70's and 80's

(...) I had a very slight hunch, so to be sure, I've consulted "backoffice"-wise with Lowlug. They've confirmed that the Dutch version of the set was a promo for the brand Unox, part of the Unilever company. This also explains why the Dutch version (...)   The Rare Canadian LEGO Flag

Someone on Bricklink posted a question about the Canadian wave (embossed) and straight (stickered) flags. So I thought I would repost it here. Gary Istok ___...___ The Canadian is the rarest of the straight and wavy country flags. So far as I can (...) (19 years ago, 6-Feb-07, to lugnet.general)

  Clear spybot message block?

Hello, Is there any way to clear a spybot message from memory with one command? ClearMessage does not exist in the spybot API. For some weird reason if I use SetSerialData, it causes the brick to go a bit weird. I.E. Random movements etc. Chris (19 years ago, 6-Feb-07, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: NASA IS GOING BACK BABY

(...) I would add *yet* to that. (...) Hmmm... I don't know a town layout on the floor with a "space elevator" to a manufacturing platform way up on a shelf could make a really cool albeit parts intensive MOC. -Mike Petrucelli (19 years ago, 6-Feb-07, to lugnet.space)

  BbricxCC find brick behaviour

Every time I fire up BricxCC the 'Search Brick' screen that pops up has the same options default selected: port: com1 and Brick Type: RCX and every time I need to change this to USB and RCX2.   motor disassembly

I have an old electric motor part numbre 71427) that no longer 'floats' when I manually turn it and makes some noise. It still works though and I was wondering if taking it apart might improve it. I checked Philo's site and saw his disassembly of (...) (19 years ago, 6-Feb-07, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) All right, all right... I just bought some gray wheels via BrickLink... Definitely interested to see how the real thing looks when they get here. Guess I'll have to make something else with 18 big blue wheels. ;o) Thanks all! -best, Wolf (19 years ago, 6-Feb-07, to lugnet.space)
