  Re: Falkirk Wheel

(...) That seems to be a roundabout way of doing what they've been doing in Peterborough for 100+ years-- (URL) course, to get this thing to work on the energy of 8 kettles, you close the gates manually and bail out a little water in the bottom (...)   Re: A few ideas on member pages

(...) I think it's a great idea. I am all for expanding LUGNET's functionality to further increase its popularity and relevance. I even made our NG into our club's (URL) web site>. I'd like to see color capability in FTX as well. Thanks for bringing (...) (19 years ago, 9-Jan-07, to lugnet.admin.suggestions, lugnet.general, FTX)

A few ideas on member pages

Hello everybody, I started built a (URL) member page> a few yaers ago. From the begining I found it easy to do with FTX. It's by far not as complicated as HTML or other design languages. So after having this page for a few years now - and still (...) (19 years ago, 9-Jan-07, to lugnet.admin.suggestions, lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: Aliens Style APC

Paul, Ah, I was admiring this the other day - very nice work! How many troops does it fit on the inside? I know how hard it can be to balance functionality and scale, and I think you've done a great job. I like the slightly sloped roof and you've (...)   Re: Hey Iian, These are your little duckies right??

(...) Iain's stuff always impresses. He builds such clever stuff. But to watch him go through it is really a treat: Iain intrinsically knows the "feel" of pieces--eg, what will stick, just how much bracing something needs, that sort of thing. It (...)   Falkirk Wheel

(URL) this is what you need in the layout...not a piddly little boat lock :) And the fact that it only uses 1.5kWh of power (like boiling 8 kettles) to lift a boat is way cool. I'd plan a trip to Scotland just to see this bad boy... -Rob A> (19 years ago, 9-Jan-07, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: The difference between hobbyists and collectors...

(...) I disagree. If Chris does a good job of estimating the final purchase price, good for him. He'll save people like you from wasting your time bidding on it, while the price rises from $20 to $100. I don't think it's gouging, if it's a luxury (...) Hello Paul, this is a true spotlight! I just had to login and answer. I like the details of the interior. And I love the playability. Great work. I wonder how you did that sliding door. It looks fantastic in the animation. And what about the wheels, (...) (19 years ago, 9-Jan-07, to lugnet.build.military, FTX)

  Re: Manhattan's Engine 14

(...) Thanks! (...) Ah, yes. I have this habit of knowing where things are by knowing what buildings are on the corner of the blocks they're on rather than knowing the actual street name/number. In the case of this firehouse, I actually know of it (...) (19 years ago, 9-Jan-07, to lugnet.town)

Re: Very poor customer service from Lego Shop at Home

Pardon my naivety, but at 2,776 (per the box top) pieces, (URL) set 5526> seems to be a fairly decent way to get a variety of legos at an average of $0.047 per peice even if you don't want to build the set using Lego's (online only) (...) And actually, linking back and browsing through Ian's YouTube account was interesting. I'd not seen the pole balancer, and I love the "Toppler" as well. Nifty. (19 years ago, 9-Jan-07, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
