Re: BrickFest registration fees (was: LEGO Adult Fan Convention at Legoland California?)

(...) I'm not convinced of this at all. My estimations of the amount of money coming in does not match up with information I have been able to glean on costs. I am not privy to the financial details, and could be wrong, but I still have my (...) (20 years ago, 9-Sep-06, to lugnet.events, lugnet.events.brickfest, FTX)

  Re: GBC at BrickFest 2006

My almost 10 minute long video is ready. Sorry it's a week later than I said, but it's not my camera so I had to borrow it again. (URL) (20 years ago, 9-Sep-06, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics, lugnet.events.brickfest, FTX)

(...) Nor do I. In fact, I encourage it. That means there's even more specific motivation to make things bigger, better, more interesting, etc. (...) Dave, excellent point. (...) I think the reality is that in the earlier days, there was barely (...) (20 years ago, 9-Sep-06, to lugnet.events, lugnet.events.brickfest)

Re: Parts Releases and the CA

(...) I may have missed this, but has LDraw.org released a list of the parts that need to be replaced?   Flash Write Cycles

Does anyone know how the NXT firmware handles writing program files into flash? If you re-flash a program with the same name, does it first erase the sectors that the old program was located in and then re-flash these sectors with the new program? (...)   Re: Oh no, someone beat Derek!

(...) Ya, Calum has already been taunting me privately with these pictures. The truth is I'm not going to be first out of the gate. It just too big a project and I have too many other projects to work on as well. I'm looking to get into the second (...) (20 years ago, 9-Sep-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Hey, BrickShelf-users, seen this? Some more photography basics

Although most of your advice is sound I'd like to make one comment : You make quite a few save steps before the end result... specially with a format such as JPEG (which is what comes out of most consumer level camera's) loads of info gets lost on (...) (20 years ago, 9-Sep-06, to lugnet.general)

Re: Bad examples are getting worse :-(

(...) NO! Imagine people putting up sticker scans, which you'd want as sharp as possible for reprinting. Using JPEG and having them scaled would kill the details there. Why not educate the clueless user instead of killing features power users might (...) (20 years ago, 9-Sep-06, to lugnet.general)

Re: BrickFest registration fees (was: LEGO Adult Fan Convention at Legoland California?)

Well, agree or not, Anthony's making a valid point. Some AFOLs may feel used or exploited if the event is a for-profit one, while others don't mind, so long as they get their money's worth. I think the problem is that people don't know. I guess (...) (20 years ago, 9-Sep-06, to lugnet.events, lugnet.events.brickfest)
