Dirty Bricks '06 - Contest, Lego prizes and a bag of chips!

Well, the time has come again to have a nice friendly competition... There are contests that showcase a builder's skill. There are contests that showcase a builder's creativity. There are even contests that showcase a builder's sense of humour. This (...) (20 years ago, 1-Aug-06, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.build, lugnet.underground, FTX) !

  Re: I like Balls.

(...) You know, it looks an aweful lot like something that you left behind on my build table. Nice to see that it's still relevant. I hate to say it, but I like your balls. They've given me quite the education. -Duane (20 years ago, 1-Aug-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Melting (re: rtl21)

(...) I think that may have been John's match against my robot.... oops.... It was one of the last matches... If I recall, it was a real tug-of-war, with about equal traction. Your bot was geared pretty fast, mine used one R/C motor, and 1:15 (...) (20 years ago, 1-Aug-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  rtl21, some post game analysis

(URL) I decided yesterday to do some analysis on the number of "insufferable" throwdown posts versus actual performance. As you can see, the ratio of trashtalk to wins is about 1:1 for DaveK, and 2:1 for Chris. Winners like JohnG, Edward and Vitali (...) (20 years ago, 1-Aug-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, FTX)

Disappearing backslash? (was: parts i'd like to see in Lcad/MLcad)

XFUT lugnet.admin.general (...) This is odd. When viewing my original posting through the web interface, the backslash between 'ldraw' and 'parts' is not displayed. But looking at the raw message, the backslash is actually present. I wonder if this (...) (20 years ago, 1-Aug-06, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, lugnet.admin.general, FTX)

Re: Official scores from rtl21--Chris didn't win... again!!!!

(...) Except in your run down of all the competitors, I didn't get disqualified and I beat you... Don't make me pull out some charts and graphs.... (...) Oh...now you've done it. (...) Part of the idea with not rerunning contests (at least simple (...) (20 years ago, 1-Aug-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: SNVT Build-a-Train Contest

This is just a reminder that you have until August 7th to enter this contest. There have been some fantastic models entered so far but there is plenty of room for more. I hope as many folks with enter that can. Eric (...) (20 years ago, 1-Aug-06, to lugnet.general, lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Official scores from rtl21--Chris didn't win... again!!!!

(...) I PROTEST EVEN MORE!!!!! If this was a real game run by competent people, then the following would have happened: Chris - Disqualified for an over weight robot cause he used an inaccurate scale to weight his bot, and used that as an excuse to (...)
