I think a japanese fellow posted pictures on brickshelf of that technique a while back. I tried it, but the connection wasn't robust enough for my application. I did come up with another technique though which worked for me. I wedged pieces of (...) (20 years ago, 23-May-06, to lugnet.build.schleim, FTX)

Hi all, Another fairly quick build: a French (URL) Sybic>. The train is bley but unfortunately the hinges don't exist in bley so hopefully grey would work in this situation.
