(...) Yep. The only thing that matters is where the file being referenced is located. LDraw looks for files in 4 places: in parts\, p\, models\, and relative to the current directory. In order to find any file in parts\s\, you have to include the (...) (21 years ago, 28-Feb-05, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)
