Re: Parts editing made easy (well, easier)

(...) I noticed they were offset somewhat because of pivot point issues, and that took some time to resolve. The 3DS file format is actually very badly documented in public sources, but now it works the way it should. Now that I have the absolute (...) (21 years ago, 24-Feb-05, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  LEGO Train Hobby growing... comments?

It "feels" like the hobby is growing, there are more shows and more clubs. I often think about growth in serveal ways, two of which are: big, more brick intensive layouts and frequency of shows per club. The bigger more brick intensive layouts are (...) (21 years ago, 24-Feb-05, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Fairmont Speeder, small track powed motorcar

(...) Thanks Steve, and your welcome, although I think I should have tried to hunt down a couple more chassis before publishing. 8) I'm hoping to get more, to make other MOW vehicles, such as a hi-rail truck or ballest tamper. Mat (21 years ago, 24-Feb-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: Lego Factory Contest results

Thanks for the kind words. I agree with you that the idea the Lego company has with regards to creating other sets would be a good one, given the substantial number of very nice creations that did not win. It would be nice to see some of my designs (...) (21 years ago, 24-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.microscale, lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Latest build after a long break!

(...) <snip> Very nice, solid mecha. I like the studless look a lot. I'm going to agree with Jeff and say the forearms seem out of step with the rest of the mecha. Other than that, great mecha! More more more! Later, Chris (21 years ago, 24-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Soren's School Girl Mech

(...) Soren has come light years since he first started building mecha. Really great work. The cell phone is right on! I like the way the skirt is done, too. Keep 'em coming! Later, Chris (21 years ago, 24-Feb-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Tieran Marine Core Gear

(...) NICE! I dislike most minifig weapons I see people make because they are either: composed of mutilated LEGO weapons, custom-made molds, or ridiculously oversized. HOWEVER... Yours are just wonderful David. In particular, The flechete gun, light (...) (21 years ago, 24-Feb-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.military, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Fairmont Speeder, small track powed motorcar

(...) Thanks Rob, A few of them? Let me know if you want to sell one. 8) I'd like to build a hi-rail truck as well. Or I could switch the Speeder over to a bit charG chassis, and use the 5213 for the hi-rail. This was a fun proof of concept, to see (...) (21 years ago, 24-Feb-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Big Bionicle Model - "The Rack"

(...) <Snip> WOW! This is the most impressive Bionicle thing I've ever seen! Don't think I didn't notice the Onua claws making those helix structures...I remember you experimenting with that when I came down to L.A. You really must go to TAP (...)   Re: Lego Factory Contest results

(...) I actually voted for the pirate ship model but I have to agree with you that it is both wrong and suspicious that that person won for four entries. It was wrong, as you said, to allow one person to win more than once. It is suspicious that out (...)   Re: Razor

This is cool Brian. The missle racks balance out the body and help "round" out the form. Though the spines alone do give Razor a nice brutal feel. Cool Yellow on black. Nicely done. Lots of spines and twisty bits applied to break up the straight (...) (21 years ago, 24-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

(...) MEGA CUT (...) At this time I have to add nothing that I didn't write in my post ((URL)). I agree 100% with you. I hope TLC will do something because a builder can't win 4 times... it is not right. Regards, Luca (21 years ago, 24-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.microscale, lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.general, FTX)

(...) Yes, well. Let's see if I can enunciate what my brain is thinking. Holy mother of.... I am always particuarily amazed at how closely you get to Geiger's imagery. The Rack proper is a feast.   Re: Soren's School Girl Mech

Soren, as always very cool. The school girl is incredible. But what really got me going was the bag, cell phone, and hair. Simple creations wonderfully executed. Right on man. Mark (21 years ago, 24-Feb-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Latest build after a long break!

Woah. Ok, studless cool factor going on there. (ok, a few studs here and there I know, but I'm calling this studless.) I like the head, plenty of personality in a compact space. It seems a trifle small but that is the Mecha style. (huge bodies, (...) (21 years ago, 24-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: GPLR - PORTLAND GATS

(...) Bob I would have been more concerned about the full Santa Fe. As it clearly out weighs my TGV. And since the TGV is longer then the bridge, at no point is the whole weight of the TGV on the bridge at one time. ;) Dave www.gplr.org (21 years ago, 24-Feb-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)
