 | | Article to appear in Sunday Daily News Feb 20th, 2005
|

This is the newer of two daily newspapers in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Gail Meagher (21 years ago, 15-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.ca.novalug, lugnet.loc.ca.ns.hal, lugnet.loc.ca.ns)

| (...) There is always a way. You would need a very high gain amplifier to pick up the small amount of voltage induced into the "wrapped" wire. If you are talking about LEGO motor wires, you would need to separate the pair of wires and only wrap (...) (21 years ago, 15-Feb-05, to lugnet.robotics)

| (...) Hello! I work with these kinds of things, and will try to make a few suggestions. Assuming the signal to detect is DC, there would be only a very short pulse on the detecting line if a transformer (as You describe) is made from the two lines, (...) | OK, this is WAY geeky, but I just thought I'd share... This was triggered by a cloud visible at sunset a couple of evenings ago. It was long and triangular, and took up about 5 "hand-widths" at arms length. I started thinking, how close (or far (...) (21 years ago, 15-Feb-05, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.off-topic.geek)

| (...) I'd say it looks like the image on the right was contrast enhanced before the dithering was applied. Stand back and squint at the images to see the change in contrast. The light colors are all clearly whiter. You can also see some color (...) (21 years ago, 15-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mosaic, FTX)

| (...) Im curious about the studs-out orientation as well. Either up-down or left-right (front-back). Each has their own particular spatial geometry, when talking about Lego brick. It would be help if you did something like the following (...) (21 years ago, 15-Feb-05, to lugnet.build, lugnet.build.schleim, FTX)

| | | | | Inductive sensor?
|
| Hey, sensor gurus, is there a way to create a sensor that will sense inductively, as in "wrap a wire around another wire and have the RCX tell you when current is flowing in the other wire? (21 years ago, 15-Feb-05, to lugnet.robotics)

| Now we have something to compare: (URL) On the left the original image. In the middle my result with black, white, yellow, red and blue. On the right Corey's result with the same colours. I don't make artistic mosaics, they're purely mathematical. I (...) (21 years ago, 15-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mosaic, FTX)
