Re: Gladius - My First Mech

(...) Pardon me for beeing so late! Welcome to .mecha. It's only a few days I posted my first mech here, getting a fantastic and warm welcome. So I feel a bit strange writing this right now. Tim please tell me you were building for several years and (...) (21 years ago, 2-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Easter Egg Hunt

As we mentioned at the meeting (and in the last message) our next meeting will be at Crossroads Shopping Center on March 26. This is the Saturday before Easter Sunday. So our mini-challenge will be to build a robot that will hunt for chocolate (...) (21 years ago, 2-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

Re: using PWM output to control Lego motors

(...) Thank you, this clarifies things for me quite a lot. I was thinking that PWM was PWM, but now I see the important difference -- one is a means of transmitting data, and the other is a means for controlling current (integrated over many (...)   January 2005 Meeting Notes

Saturday's SMART meeting went really well! For our fourth anniversary we had slightly less people than normal, but almost everyone brought a mini-challenge or other robot. The mini-challenge was to build a robot that could detect a 60-watt (...) (21 years ago, 2-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

  Re: Stormwalker

(...) I've chosen this pic as it's the one I like most too. (...) I like this idea, because I don't really want to change the torso (maybe different or more weapons). But up to now I couldn't find a way to bring the hips closer together without (...) (21 years ago, 2-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: The Great Ball Contraption V3

(...) Well, I do have a very large suppily, and despite sending out hundreds of soccer balls, I've just scratched the surface. I have a whole stack of requests, just waiting to be boxed and shipped. I just need to get to the post office during work (...) (21 years ago, 2-Feb-05, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Stormwalker

(...) Thank you! I apreciate this, especially as it's coming from you. (see reply to Mark Neumann) (...) Hey, I wasn't begging for compassion. I enjoyed this time. Building is what LEGO means to me. I just wanted to give a figure for the time it (...) (21 years ago, 2-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: AFOL Mindstorm competition in Billund

(...) Well, I must admit, my team is not exactly a "dream team" of builders. In addition to myself, one teammate will celebrate the one year anniversary of leaving his "dark years" (when he got his Mindstorms set) on our way back from Denmark. And, (...)   Re: The Great Ball Contraption V3

(...) Before Steve gave me some balls (oh, the straight lines...), I acquired enough to run a few modules of my own from various Bricklink purchases. You could do a GBC by simply mandating that everybody who wants to add to a GBC brings there own (...) (21 years ago, 2-Feb-05, to lugnet.robotics)

Steve Hassenplug writes: > ho hum. another day, another Great Ball Contraption. Cool. I'd love to start a GBC activity here in Potsdam, but .... we need a reliable source of bulk balls.   Re: AFOL Mindstorm competition in Billund

(...) Excellent! Congradulations to both teams, and please do keep us "stay-at-homes" up to date on how it goes! While my LEGO can't go with you, my best wishes certainly do! (...)   Re: using PWM output to control Lego motors

PWM for servo pulse is on a three wire system (Pos, Neg, and data). The pulse is a series of different length square waves sent to the servo or ESC in a certain length of time. This pulse is then translated by the servo or ESC as a "position" it (...) (21 years ago, 2-Feb-05, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic)

  Re: Vikings?

Are you using the term Viking here where you should prehaps be using the term Norsemen ? I always thought that 'Viking' was a term for the Warriors. Various online encyclopaedias seem to agree with this.. (URL) for example. quote : The name Viking (...) (21 years ago, 2-Feb-05, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Ambassadors Selected!

  Re: Outing a talented lurker.

(...) Let me add my praise, especially of some of the angular structures. The bridge and the blue wedge are bit unconventional and neat, and I really like the tail and engines. The whole ship has a bit of a classic space feel to me. On the other (...) (21 years ago, 2-Feb-05, to lugnet.space)

using PWM output to control Lego motors

In my ongoing quest to control Lego robots by radio, I've uncovered some receivers made by GWS that work with a standard model airplane transmitter, and have 4 channels of standard PWM (pulse-width modulation) output. For example, see (URL). But now (...) (21 years ago, 2-Feb-05, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic)
