I came across a design I did 8 months back. The way I have this drawing is that one motor operates the first section, and right beside the motor is a cable that retracts and extends the rest of the boom. I will post pics of it as soon as possible. (21 years ago, 17-Jan-05, to lugnet.technic)

(...) Thanks Kyle. I used Felix's recommendation of taking the shots outdoors, in the shade on a sunny day and it made a huge difference. I was in a U.S. Sears yesterday and found set 4100 for $4.95 (75% Off). In my experience, Sears in the U.S. only carries Lego for a few weeks prior to Christmas - but if there is any left - this is a fantastic clearance. Might be worth a look! -- (...)
