Mike, In the first image, there are no shadows. What you see are reflections. The reflection of the smoke stack on the top of the engine compartment looks like a shadow because the smoke stack is darker than the abient light you see other places. (...) THe line drawing schematic of the Hudson was in .dxf and .dwg (and even .dwx) formats, and I was trying to make them into JPEGs or the like. (...) For some of them (the cowcatcher and some of the side tubes) I simply used the flexible hose segments in LDRAW to simulate flex-tubing. For the rest (all of the (...) I think this one has merit Pat, particularily for it's fidelity to the 70's anime ship aesthetic. Poking around the several Yamato/Starblazers referrence sites, it struck me that the designs of the time are curving, bulbous lots, often resembling (...) (22 years ago, 20-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

I too have to say congrats...even though I couldn't watch it... don't have cable and don't have a strong enough antenna from where I am to get it. <sigh> ...its not like I watch that much TV anyways. :) Wow...that is quite a bit of exposure in the (...) This is quirky good...it's like old school meets new school. I always enjoy other themes (as this reminds me of a stout ocean going vessel) meshed with sci-fi.
