9353 Dacta Lego Large Theme Set

[I counted each minifig part separately along with 8 tires which are pre-mounted on the 2x2 wheel-holder brick, which raises the part-count by 176 compared to the total TLG would report. Also, I did not include the info-cards or plastic bin in the (...) (26 years ago, 24-Mar-99, to lugnet.db.inv)

  Re: blasters in sw sets

Yes, Tom, we must stop it. I can't believe how many blaster cannons they have on those SW sets! They have it almost everyone except the landspeeder! How much violence has been started because of children seeing this, why, they must have started that (...) (26 years ago, 24-Mar-99, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: new crown gear

From: Eric Brok <brok@fcjsvc.hvu.nl> (...) The new gear looks very cool. It looks like the 16t gear, but it appears that it can be used as a crown gear or a normal gear. The new mini-sets could make for interesting desktoys at work (something that I (...) (26 years ago, 24-Mar-99, to lugnet.robotics)

An innovative way to remove printing from small Lego elements

I have discovered a very clever way of removing the printing from small Lego elements - forget brake fluid, various astringents, etc. and try this: simply put the element in your pocket every day for several months! :) .....well, it works for (...) (26 years ago, 24-Mar-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: How do you convert light sensor data to bmp image

I just put a Win32/i386 port of netpbm on my ftp site (ftp://ftp.phred.org...bm-e.zip). Very little documentation, but it should be easier then uploading and downloading files from a unix account. I'd recommend generating the PGM, then using (...) (26 years ago, 24-Mar-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

Re: Who had the 5571 Inventory?

For me the most notable reason why our little market isn't perfect is that IMO we are in a constant state of short supply on most elements (because of TLG's unwillingness to offer bulk), not to mention that most sets are not available through Lego (...)   Re: new stuff on my site (coach, trolley...again, LEGO Logo art)

(...) There are two major types of power pickups that work on overhead wire. See my site, in the glossary section. A trolley is a kind of train... but anyway, any sprung single pole is a trolley pole, no matter what sort of train it's on. The LEGO (...) (26 years ago, 24-Mar-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Star Wars in Colo. Spgs.

Still no luck in finding these in the Springs. I hit the Walmarts at Academy and Highway 83 and at Platte, the Targets at Academy and Union and on Platte, and Toys R Us. Pretty much everyone looked picked over. Oh, this happened on Monday. I'm (...) (26 years ago, 24-Mar-99, to lugnet.loc.us.co.den)

FAorT: 6988 - Alpha Centauri Outpost

Greetings all, I have a new in box 6988 available to a good home. The box has been opened, but the bags have not. This set is great. It has two cool baseplates, 9V lighted bricks, and lots of good Blacktron II elements. This set is from 1991, is (...) Thanks Larry. You told me what the bubble thing was; so, I figured you would eventually go to my site and you would eventually tell me what the power thingies are. I figured you would get a laugh if I asked by name. I like the (wait for it) part of (...) (26 years ago, 24-Mar-99, to lugnet.trains)
