A friend of mine built a radio controlled walker with six legs using twelve servos and a single BASIC stamp to control the walking. The stamp accepts the PWM from the RC receiver (using the pbasic 'pulsin' command) and outputs the pulses to all of (...) (27 years ago, 21-Jul-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

As an addition to my earlier message I have a cheaper and possibly more versatile way of controlling the servos. I have obtained information on the Servo16 algorithm by Erik de la Iglesia which runs on a MC68HC11E1 (he mentions using the E9 but the (...) (27 years ago, 21-Jul-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

I am considering using two MiniSSC II servo controllers from Lynxmotion ((URL) to control the servos on a six leg walker using the handyboard as the CPU. I tried the circuit out tonight, and it works! (Mostly.) I hooked up a 1K and a 3K resistor for R2 and R1, for a gain of 4, and the output is roughly linear with the input. Still need to do some more testing. I ended up having to use a +/- 12V (...) (27 years ago, 21-Jul-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
