Assuming I have got the design spec right (ie, a wheel which can turn 360+ degrees and drive independently), I have managed to build one from just the Mindstorms bits. But it needs two motors at the moment, since I haven't got a differential left to (...) (27 years ago, 16-Jan-99, to lugnet.robotics)

I was just wondering if anyone had the 8459 Front-End Loader. I want to see the construction concept of the turning mechanism. I checked the instruction archives and it doesn't contain this one. What may even be better help, does anyone know of a (...) (27 years ago, 16-Jan-99, to lugnet.robotics)

I discovered something that I can see no use for but maybe someone else can. If you connect the two power wires together from two motors and spin one motor, the other motor spins! The first is obviously generating DC voltage in proportion to speed. (...) (27 years ago, 16-Jan-99, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) I think this is right. After all, we could all start with an asortmaent of bits of metal and plastic and a hobby engineering shop, and build arbitrary robot designs; and *probably*, it wouldn't cost a huge amount more than the mindstorms kit (...) (27 years ago, 16-Jan-99, to lugnet.robotics)
