Re: Rush: "Lego is a Tool for 4 year olds"

< cross posted to off-topic-debate > Rich, (...) Hmm... Being a Rush fan and a definite AFOL, I can see the logic of his thinking. Testing people on the ability to build anything, regardless of how good they might be, is a strange way of testing (...) (26 years ago, 1-Feb-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate, lugnet.general)

  Re: Informal WB Store Survey

I ordered 30 8445s on th 29th and 30th, after they were relisted on the site on the 29th. Anyone want to guess what happened to the orders? That's right, CANCELLED. And talking to the Catalog order folks, you can't talk to the web folks, you can (...) (26 years ago, 1-Feb-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Wow. Castle was good!

I only had classic space (pre-Blacktron) and freestyle when I was a kid, so I never really knew what the castle series used to be like. I've come out of my dark ages tuned into castle in a big way (1). I've been collecting a lot of clearance Ninja, (...) (26 years ago, 1-Feb-00, to lugnet.castle)

  Cheap Webcams?

Just a quickie - plans to borrow a 'proper' digital camera have fallen through, so I was wondering if cheap web-cams (less than $100) have good enough quality for taking LEGO pictures? Some of the ones in my price-range are max resolution of (...) (26 years ago, 1-Feb-00, to lugnet.publish)

Re: Pause clarification (?) -7171 Mos Espa Podrace

(...) Even though Gasgano has two legs too few, I was at least happy to see that he was built (i.e. not molded in one piece like Sebulba). As a side, about whiffle balls. Not only are they supposed to hurt less if one were to be hit by them (both (...) (26 years ago, 1-Feb-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.starwars)

Re: Extraordinary style + details in a spaceship

"I wonder if he'll accept cash or check?" Man! those have got to be some of the best models I have seen. I swear, that Loader Mech has got to be the best mech models I have ever seen and the spaceships, especially that micro-fig dropship with the (...)   Re: 9v train idea book: I might be making one, anyone interested?

In lugnet.trains, John Neal writes: <some snipping> (...) Well, send me some of your models, John, I'd be happy to fondl- er, digitize them for you. :) Always ready to help out a poor downtrodden Mac user ;) K.M. p.s. Intel's can L-Draw, norny norny (...)   Re: questions

(...) take a gander at this (long, wrapped) URL. Near the top of the map there should be an orange box with '1' inside it - that's pretty close. (URL) (who lives somewhere in the lower left-hand quarter of that map) (26 years ago, 1-Feb-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: Half price 8448 from Argos

(...) And? :-) That's never stopped them before. Have you ever believed the UK catalogue? Just because it's in the catalogue doesn't mean it's current stock - one of the reasons why Argos are getting rid of them - I know that shops can't order any (...) (26 years ago, 1-Feb-00, to lugnet.loc.uk)
