Curious. But the it looks like the images are no longer up - are there any
images of the internal workings of Gronk or your own implementation? Id not
seen this before, and Im really curious now... both how well it worked, and
how well disguised it can be made.

The receiver circuit fits inside a box shaped like this:
Power is connected at one end, and the motor drive is taken from the other. You
can see it in the rear section of the engine. The battery box is in the front,
and operated by pressing the chimney down.
Unfortunately I forgot to remove the chimney before packing it away, and it got
squashed and ran the battery down over the last 48 hours. Its a basic circuit
using relays, which makes it a bit big and it stops working when the battery
voltage drops as it begins to run down.
The geartrain in the uncoupler is best viewed from below. I take advantage of
the extra space to provide a smooth powerful rack system but with a slipping
belt drive for over-run protection (as 9V mini-motors are already gone).
Theres also a raised tile in the base just below the motor, so that the slider
can come right up to, but not hit, the motor drive gear.
I use BBB wheels on the wagon to give me more space for the mechanism.
Ill add more photos of my own later.
