Hi All,

Just recieved three complimentary copies of the November 1999 issue of 'The
Bulletin', The Toy Train Operating Society's (TTOS) national magazine.  There
is a 1 1/2 page article about Lego trains with specific mentions to PNLTC and
several members.  A couple pictures of the Portland GATS layout from 1997
and my FP40H Amtrak engine.

There is also a reference to the Nova train site.

I see this as just the tip of the iceberg for publications and articles on
Lego trains.  And this is just the sort of thing that can propel Lego train
building and collecting into the mainstream Model/Toy train world.

It is my understanding that the magazine is not available in stores and is
mailed directly to members of TTOS.

Perhaps the future will yield more articles in even bigger magazines...
Especially with more and more LEGO train clubs forming accross the country.

Could you post the text of the article?

Which reminds me, was there ever any coverage of the GMLTC at
the NMRA show?  Anything in Model Railroader?

Do you mean the Northern Virginia Lego Train Club (NOVALTC)?

Actually I think this is my train site, Nova Township.

I was contacted late last year by the person who wrote the article to
see if I could provide pictures for it. He first emailed me a week
after I took the layout down. I tried to recreate some of the things
from the layout, but after two failed attempts at getting good
pictures I gave up. This was my first attempt to take actual
photographs of LEGO, all my other pics are done using a video camera
and video snappy.

I'm glad that LEGO trains are getting more exposure, even if my layout
wasn't 100% pure LEGO.

Sorry, my last message was goofed up.
If this article, and others that follow, were also sent to TLG. They might be
persuaded to produce raw train elements, in service packs, for the modeling
market.
