well Dutch.... Ok, based on the French BB7200.... but it's the Dutch railways
yellow version, oh yeah: and it has the crest of the city I grew up: Almelo.
Don't know if 1876 is a real existing train number, but what the heck.
Hello all you trainheads!!
Let's start a new train model-width: not 6,7 or 8 that's for babies. go for the
big numbers: 20!
(reminds me of a scene in Titanic (the movie) where they discussed the size of
the Titanic... something to do with Freud...)

It's more a model now, not that much Technic in it. I tried to remain as close
as possible to the original.
Some specs:
- 20 nops wide
- 105 nops long
- about 20 nops high
- Rides on straight old-style rail track, 9 nops from each other.
- something like 8-9 Kg
In the weekend I'll try to do some moderation on my site.

I liked it so much I downloaded the whole brickshelf folder (using a handy
program).
I'm stating the obvious here, but you could always mate Lego with commercial
bogies and track in the appropriate scale. Now that would be cool.

AWESOME work! First 1600-style Dutch engine I've seen in LEGO that truly
manages to capture the right shape of the nose.
(And no, 1876 is not a real number... the Almelo is 1618 but who cares. See

As for 6-8 wide building being for babies... try doing your model in 7 or 8
wide and maintain the nose shape :) Will you do a CAD model of it some day?
This would make a great wallpaper for my PC, and I'd love to play with your
pantograph design.
I hope you'll attend some shows with this model, would love to see it up
close and make some pictures of it as well. And as our French friend said,
one in the BB-7200 livery would go well with it.

Or the red 1637 or 1837 (1) livery :-)

(1) In 1999 the Dutch railway stock was split between NS Reizigers (Passengers)
and NS Cargo (Freight). The locomotives class 1600 for NS Reizigers were
renumbered to class 1800, keeping the last two numbers. As 1637 was initially
the last one of this class for NS Cargo it was painted in the red livery of NS
Cargo. Later this loco was sold to NS Reizigers and thus renumbered to 1837.
About one or two years ago this loco was repainted yellow again.

Ik ben ook bezig met een 20 brede 1600. Maar dan een 1800. Genoemd naar mijn
geboorteplaats Tilburg, de 1851. Misschien kunnen we de locomotieven eens naast
elkaar zetten, dat lijkt me erg gaaf!
