After a couple of months of building, I’m ready to share this MOC with the community-at-large. This is my rendition of the Firefly-class ship “Serenity” from the TV series “Firefly” and upcoming movie “Serenity”. It’s about 105 studs long, and features (in my opinion) some fun detailing and lighting.

Great stuff. The ship was one of my favorite parts of the series. I love the techniques you’ve used to build the engines. I also like your use/mix of color to give it some of the gritty feeling of the show version.

Spotlighted!

Best regards,

That’s very cool, Chris. I love the engine details and the shape and the lighting. Gonna have to spend some more time looking...

Chris,

That is amazing, and truly captures the look & feel of the boat! I have to admit that I almost wet myself when I saw the photos. Well, okay, I did wet myself. Jus’ a little.

You might consider building the interior ... as free-standing sets, I mean. Heck, you’ve got the minifigs already ... this could even be an excuse to make a Joss Whedon fig!

Oh, I gave you some love on my blog.

Rockin! Cool moc. I love your use of both dark grays in the engines and throughout the moc. It really makes the model pop. Your insane use of snot is also just ridiculously cool.

My favorite part

Truely impressive, are those insectoid wings? I just started watching the series, and was wondering what Serenity would look like all Legofied, yours is even better than my imagination.

Thanks for the complements!

Yes, those are insectoid wings - in a very happy coincidence they are almost the
exact shape of the solar pannels on Serenity. I doubt I'll ever find a more
useful application for them!
