Steambots aren’t powered with fancy-dancy unobtainium power-fusion or uber-posh magic crystals. No. Steambots are powered by STEAM, yeah, thats right, steam as in evaporated water for all you science geeks out there. And when they run out of steam, only then do they rely on juju juice from yer mom, yeah thats right, juju juice they stole from yer mom, cuz your mom’s been hoarding that good juju for a while now and that aint cool, no it aint. not cool at all, but dont worry, i didnt throw yer mom out into that poisonous space air.. oh no, i reserved something much worse for her and all her hoarded juju juice. yep, thats right, shes spending the night with Derek Schin.

Sometimes I think you build stuff just so you’ll have an excuse to create those crazy captions and commentaries. Well played. Do they ever shoot blasts of steam as an attack?

How do you run the control algorithms on steam? Is it all open-loop mechanical activation?

In seriousness to a joke of a post, via air.

I am a air computer maintainer. Professionally. So, I maintain a analog computer. Hence why if you look around, you will find my posts sometimes tagged as :analog computer programmer: or suchlike.

James Powell, Cert 2A Protecteur Class, Cert 2A trainer Protecteur Class, Analog computer Programmer/Controls Maintainer. Dude with too much steam and not enough places to vent it (all 214 000 lb/hr of it)

If it’s made by Bailey, it is usually broken or old now :)

Nice Retro looking robots too.  I like.  I recommend to anyone who like
this kind of Retro Science go see "Steam Boy" if at all possible.  It is
Katsuhiro Otomo's first feature film since "Akira" and I believe that Sony
is distributing it.  I saw it on the weekend, had some interesting designs
and Ideas in it, and was all-in-all and entertaining film.

Thanks goes to Paul Baulch for getting me a ticket
