  New MOC: Victory-Class Corvette

(URL) Click on Image This is just a small ship I've been working on the past few weeks. I tried to go in a completely different direction from my previous spaceship, the rather 'blah' Vanguard-Class Destroyer. So ya see... constructive criticism (...)   Re: New MOC: Victory-Class Corvette

(...) Sure have... this is brilliant Mladen! Such an interesting small, unassuming ship. I love how you've crammed an interior into such a small space. Very nice. Really, I don't have much critisism here. Well, one small thing- just that when you (...) (20 years ago, 22-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: New MOC: Victory-Class Corvette

(...) Nice, very nice. At first glance, it's a very smooth and clean model. The various angles (studs on the side) you've used add a lot to it, and the angled sides keep it from being a box shape ship. The interior is very clean, maximized on a (...)   Re: New MOC: Victory-Class Corvette

(...) Thanks JHK! The reason why there's so much in it, is because originally it was supposted to be bigger, but I scaled it down. (...) Yeah. (...) I would love to... But, sobs, I don't know how to build stuff without guns & missiles... I'm so (...) (20 years ago, 22-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: New MOC: Victory-Class Corvette

(...) Thanks Avery! That is exactly what I was trying to do with the angled sides; prevent a boxy shape from forming. I'm glad you like the interior, it's something I'm trying to get better at. (...) blush (URL) Mladen Pejic> (...) (20 years ago, 22-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: New MOC: Victory-Class Corvette

Ok, one, my head is hurting from the idea of thinking up that hull. Two, that thing is AWESOME! The little interior modules are really nifty. The overall design of this is just really cool. -Stefan- (20 years ago, 22-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: New MOC: Victory-Class Corvette

(...) nicely done. Since this is so nicely done and follows exactly what i see in a ships design style... you get the full load from me :) Hull: Very nice, with the subtle snot technique, I like the fact you used those 1x2 hinge thingers. Very (...) (20 years ago, 23-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: New MOC: Victory-Class Corvette

(...) Mladen I don't know how you do it! I can see how the parts are put together and how the colors fit and "make" shapes but when I want embark in such endeavours I end up doing nothing like what you accomplish. There is nothing I do not like (...) (20 years ago, 23-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: New MOC: Victory-Class Corvette

(...) Thanks Stefan! I don't think the hull idea is too radical. It's actually quite simple and practical. Thanks again for the reply. (URL) Pejic> (20 years ago, 23-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: New MOC: Victory-Class Corvette

(...) Hey Rick, I'm glad you like this ship. Now I actually see that it does follow some of the same ideas seen in your creations. (...) The checkered strip is just something I picked up from looking at all those WWII/Crimson Skies planes on (...) (20 years ago, 23-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: New MOC: Victory-Class Corvette

(...) Heh, no, thank you David! :-) Don't think building stuff is easy for me though. It really isn't. This spaceship took me around two weeks to complete. I went through a lot of revisions before I settled on the final model that you see. Also, if (...) (20 years ago, 23-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: New MOC: Victory-Class Corvette

The crew miss a HD-TV and a stereo! They have all sort of accomodations (let me count once more : (URL) here> I find one, and (URL) there> you are, two water outlets, + the shower cabin, that can actualy be closed, wow!), they have this big (...) (20 years ago, 23-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: New MOC: Victory-Class Corvette

(...) Mladen, this ship might set a new record for the tightest dimensions on a craft that still houses all the necessities for daily living. Nice! I'd like to officially cast my vote in favor of seeing the squared-off barrels again on the rail (...) (20 years ago, 23-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: New MOC: Victory-Class Corvette

(...) This ship is truly excellent. Very clever and efficient interior design, and a neat way of accessing them. I like the shape and the exterior detailing too. In fact, I like everything about this, except for the depth of field in some of the (...) (20 years ago, 23-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: New MOC: Victory-Class Corvette

(...) Heh. :-) (...) Yeah, I will definitely get around to it in the future. (...) Thanks JP! I can sorta see what you mean by abrupt front end... However, this was what I was trying to get at. If this were a civilian vessel, perhaps I would have (...) (20 years ago, 23-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: New MOC: Victory-Class Corvette

(...) LOL Thanks Kyle! I'm really perplexed about the whole square-barrels vs. round-barrels thing. I really am. First people tell me its cool. Then they tell me it's getting stale. Now that I'm making round barrels they tell me the square ones (...) (20 years ago, 23-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: New MOC: Victory-Class Corvette

(...) Thanks Daniel! About the photographs... I'm so sorry. I truly feel your pain. :-( The thing is, I finally got a digital SLR camera (Nikon D70) and have still to work out all the settings. I got all the settings on manual, even the focus. So (...) (20 years ago, 23-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: New MOC: Victory-Class Corvette

Mladen, it's too bad you had to go and ruin a perfectly great ship with such a jarringly bad detail. (URL) Although I'm sure its obvioius to everyone which detail I'm talking about, I'll spell it out for you. That table lamp! And you call yourself a (...)   Re: New MOC: Victory-Class Corvette

(...) That's really nice. Reminds me of some of the mechanical designs from Jovian Chronicles. I think it could use a little element that sticks up on top somewhere, but that could be just my being used to years of looking at spaceships that use (...)   Re: New MOC: Victory-Class Corvette

(...) Hey Mladen, Actually, when I look at this ship, I don't see warship. If you removed the guns and missiles, and replaced them with telescopes and radar dishes, you'd have a very interesting looking science vessel. I'm very intrigued by how you (...)   Re: New MOC: Victory-Class Corvette

(...) Wow...very nice indeed. It took me a minute or two to figure out if it was a micro scale ship or minifig..this is a good thing. The 'barn door' approach is just amazing..really one of the most innovative designs I've seen. Excellent build. (...) (20 years ago, 23-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: New MOC: Victory-Class Corvette

(...) I just somehow knew you were going to point this out. (...) Haha! Keith, it belongs there. Face it dude, it does. Actually, I think I got the idea from some official lego set. I just couldn't pass the chance to put something like that into one (...) (20 years ago, 23-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: New MOC: Victory-Class Corvette

(...) Thanks Mark! Yeah, JC rocks. (...) I agree. But if I added a turret or something to the top, the sides wouldn't be able to open up like they do. Of course, the solution to this is to simply make the top wider. However, I suppose I could have (...) (20 years ago, 23-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: New MOC: Victory-Class Corvette

(...) Thanks Gil! :-D I'm pretty sure I'm not the first to use this idea though. BTW, I think this could work well as a huge micro-fig freighter or something. It has that kind of look. (...) Thank you. (URL) Mladen Pejic> (...) (20 years ago, 23-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: New MOC: Victory-Class Corvette

(...) Yeah, you're right Lenny. I think the general shape lends itself better to non-military roles. (...) Oh, it's pretty simple. The whole ship is built sideways, save for the engines. You just connect the two together and bam... you got a nice (...) (20 years ago, 23-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: New MOC: Victory-Class Corvette

(...) snip (...) Ha! that's pretty much exactly the story with me! Digital SLR, know how to use it in theory, and then I am too lazy to fix it later. (20 years ago, 23-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: New MOC: Victory-Class Corvette

(...) Maybe you could please everyone by doing both! See the short barrel from my bot "GreenGiant" from the bot contest: (URL) Anyway, great MOC! I am getting all kinds of ideas on how to do SNOT work from all of the great ships I have seen through (...) (20 years ago, 24-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: New MOC: Victory-Class Corvette

(...) Cool MOC! I saw it a while back on BS. Making something transform is uber hard, so I give you major props for actually making it work. As for the cannon idea... I will definitely use it sometime in the future. Thanks for the idea. (...) Thanks (...) (20 years ago, 24-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: New MOC: Victory-Class Corvette

That is a slick moc right there. At first glance I wasn't thrilled by the general shape of the moc, but closer looks through the pics show off how well this thing is designed and built. The inclusion of the different (removable! wow!) room (...) (20 years ago, 24-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: New MOC: Victory-Class Corvette

(...) Thanks Ryan! I originally didn't want to make the "rooms" removable, but it just turned out that way. (...) I'm surprised that it has gotten this much attention! :-) (URL) Mladen Pejic> (...) (20 years ago, 24-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: New MOC: Victory-Class Corvette

(...) I agree that it looks far better "upside down". I really like the details on the bottom. Luckily in space, there isn't really an "up and down". I'd display it "upside down" and have people ask why the minifigs are stuck to the ceiling. :-) (...) (20 years ago, 26-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: New MOC: Victory-Class Corvette

(...) Well, really-well-designed...d-modelled boxes aren't really my thing (I preferred the Vanguard), but I can see you've put a lot of effort into this one. Well done! Cheers, (URL) Sci-Fi LEGO> (20 years ago, 10-Sep-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)
