The inquisition comes to your sector.

(URL) The forces of the galactic inquisition are spreading into new sectors of the galaxy. Repent, lest ye be judged. First to be revealed is the Sword of Michael, an assault barge. The SoM supports a compliment of 11 Seraphim assault troopers. So, (...) (20 years ago, 9-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX) !

Re: The inquisition comes to your sector.

(...) That is way cool.It has a very Warhammer 40k feel to it. I dig the huge decorative angel thingy on the front, and the way the wings continue along the sides of the ship. I think it could use a few more guns to break up the large flat areas, (...) (20 years ago, 9-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: The inquisition comes to your sector.

Daniel, this is awesome, way awesome... It's so clean and perfect, as if you planned every last detail before you placed it. My favourite things are the space marines, the bridge, and the front "figure". I honestly prefer creations like this to some (...) (20 years ago, 9-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: The inquisition comes to your sector.

(...) Nice wing motif! I wouldn't mind trying that myself. Nice red pipe too. While Riddick wasn't a great movie, the production design was fantastic, especially the weapon/anti-grav effects, costume design and planet art design. It all looked (...) (20 years ago, 9-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: The inquisition comes to your sector.

(...) Good gothic! You have a great selection of W40K themes in there. Details on the ship are excelent. As is the high interior, 5 stars for that alone. Troops all look well thought out too. DaveG (20 years ago, 9-Aug-04, to lugnet.space)

Re: The inquisition comes to your sector.

Good (God?) ship you have here Daniel! Nice detail for the "alpha" on one side, "omega" on the opposite. Where everything begins and finishes.... a little dark / gothic as you mention, but very good idea for a new .space faction. As other people (...) (20 years ago, 9-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: The inquisition comes to your sector.

It probably won't shock you to hear that I really dig this moc, and the theme behind it. I'm not that familiar with 40k, but the first thing that came to mind was Dune for some reason. I'm on the bandwagon as far as the angel-wings go, although I (...) (20 years ago, 9-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: The inquisition comes to your sector.

(...) Thanks! 40k was an influence to, forgot to mention that. It has a turret gun on the bottom, the story there is that I used the hardpoint to attach the stand, then took all the pics, and realized I had forgotten to make a new spot to attach the (...)   Re: The inquisition comes to your sector.

(...) Wow, high praise, thanks so much! I have to say, I've never thought of your stuff as standard, you build some terrific stuff! I bet if you decide to build something in this theme, it would put me to shame. (URL) (20 years ago, 9-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: The inquisition comes to your sector.

(...) Thanks and thanks (...) I agree that Riddick wasn't a good movie, though it was better than I expected (low expectations). The visual imagery was OUTSTANDING. I'd really like to see fighter they had defending Helion, lots of cool looking (...) (20 years ago, 9-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: The inquisition comes to your sector.

(...) Thanks! I am hoping we can get a gothic swelling around here, could be fun for some variety. (URL) (20 years ago, 9-Aug-04, to lugnet.space)

Re: The inquisition comes to your sector.

(...) Thanks! The angel wings were the seed idea that fueled the construction of the entire ship. Of course, I had to wait until the dinosaurs designer set came out so that I could get my hands on the curved slopes in tan. It looked terrible with 45 (...)   Re: The inquisition comes to your sector.

(...) ha ha, there is no longer a monopoly on facist theocracies in .space! 40k has a really dark gothic space thing going, you should check it out... just don't buy any of the stuff (so much money spent in my youth...). What about the angel do you (...) (20 years ago, 9-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: The inquisition comes to your sector.

(...) Definately feels inspired the the Necromonger Dropships from Chronicles of Riddick. An awsome action movie but if you are expecting anything like plot or acting you'll be disapointed. That said for the first half hour I couldn't help think (...) (20 years ago, 9-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: The inquisition comes to your sector.

(...) The only reason I saw the movie Chronicles of Riddick was the great line "Convert now, or fall forever" Remembering that line makes me want to build evil religious MOCs. On to the MOC: I like it a whole lot. Great idea, and great execution. I (...) (20 years ago, 9-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: The inquisition comes to your sector.

(...) Hey, great job! That thing reminds me of the Assault Frigate from the computer game Homeworld. Any influence there? I won't rehash the angel figurehead, but I am wondering about the connection between decks. Is is assumed, or have you built (...) (20 years ago, 9-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

(...) Heh heh, uttilitarianism all the way! Thanks (URL) (20 years ago, 10-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: The inquisition comes to your sector.

(...) Thanks! I will do a blow-apart of one of the seraphim soon, I may just take the photo at brickfest and upload it afterwards, though. (...) That's some good advice on the photography... this is my largest MOC to date (aside from a sculpture, (...) (20 years ago, 10-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: The inquisition comes to your sector.

(...) Thanks! I played homeworld for about 10 minutes once about 5 years ago, and I don't remember a ship like this... That doesn't mean I wasn't subconciously influenced by it. There's a hatch between the decks, and a ladder from the bottom to the (...) (20 years ago, 10-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: The inquisition comes to your sector.

Awesome Daniel! The wings are so beautifully Art Deco to me. To enhance the angel I would suggest a strong upward diagonal from her feet to perhaps an outstretched hand/fist position, so it looks more like she's leaping/flying unstoppably forward (...) (20 years ago, 10-Aug-04, to lugnet.space)

Re: The inquisition comes to your sector.

Though it would require a little sculpting (and some minor snot), it might be worth trying to build the angel with plates placed vertically (studs facing forward). That would give a more nuanced form. (20 years ago, 10-Aug-04, to lugnet.space)

Re: The inquisition comes to your sector.

Well wow. Daniel, you've created yourself a fine piece of ship right there. The backswept angel wings are awesome, as is the layout of the whole ship. The concept for a new theme is very enticing, although it seems quite Reichish. Not a bad thing! (...) (20 years ago, 11-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: The inquisition comes to your sector.

(...) Yeah, looks like the Reich no longer has a lock on the facist theocracy racket. (...) Funny thing about that pipe, I found the piece that I attached the steering wheels to in my random parts bin and now I can't find anymore. I haven't been (...)   Re: The inquisition comes to your sector.

Adopt funny british nasal voice "Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!" Well done Daniel. -Joseph P.S. Sorry to nag, but that angel's body is...nagging me. (20 years ago, 11-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: The inquisition comes to your sector.

(...) Year! Where's the guys in red robes? Anyways, nice ship, although a bit too squarish, but where's the cells and torture chamber? We can't have the wiches comrades escape just because the ship have to return to base for interrogations. Besides (...) (20 years ago, 12-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Thing found (was Re: The inquisition comes to your sector.)

(...) Hi Daniel, I've found the thing. It's (URL) this.> It came in three of the soccer sets: 3420, 3421, 3425. BTW. I didn't get around to commenting on this before, but I really like this MOC. I tend to agree with the consensus on this, so I'd (...) (20 years ago, 4-Sep-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: The inquisition comes to your sector.

(...) Dan, Hey there. I still haven't had the opportunity (or at least managed the time :-P ) to look over this thing in its entirety but I wanted to take this moment to say this is an intriguing and promising theme you have begun. I commented on (...) (20 years ago, 24-Sep-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: The inquisition comes to your sector.

(...) Heh, thanks Andrew. You should've come to Brickfest, that mech and an Inquisition fighter were both on display. I built the mech the day before brickfest, and I think it came out remarkably well for one day's effort. I haven't gotten around to (...) (20 years ago, 24-Sep-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

What is this? An update for the DAC Sector?

Hi Starshippers... I am back from my extended absence and am working toward restarting my playing and my sector...I am working on the website stuff now. I have built a few new ships in the same boxy style I have grown accustom to... Richard, I (...) (20 years ago, 24-Sep-04, to lugnet.space)

(...) Obviously this reply is tremendously late, but I just saw this post... And I thought I needed to reply to the sortof question (1). I've been calling the "gargoyle-glyphs" grotesques. Grotestques are usually scary heads on cathedrals to direct (...) (20 years ago, 25-Sep-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)
