No more quiet than Brickley’s Cove, I must say! A good time to redeploy forces, as Horse Guards has evidently decided : ) But only 1 artilleryman?

He sports a custom torso, and a custom tarleton! The tarleton has been crafted from a minifig construction helm and Miliput by Aussie Lego fan and LUGnet lurker David Stannard. I’m very impressed! Check it out:

Impressive! Excellent work by David Stannard in getting that Tarleton to shape -- it’s quite a nice alternative to the castle one we’ve been using. Will the troop of artillerymen be supplemented by more men with this cap? And is there more of Mr. Stannard’s work to be seen?

I’ve got to build some Congreve rockets to supplement the field gun now...

Congreves? Oh good lord! I’ve heard nothing good about Congreves -- aside from the Sharpe testaments to their inaccuracy, I just recently read an acount from the Canadian Rebellion of 1837: the rockets were fired at a building (odd target choice to begin with) but one launched, completed a 180-degree turn, and exploded 6 feet from the commanding Lt. Colonel. He and his horse were miraculously alright.

Hmm. Sounds like just the sort of weapon to send to a French port ; )

As always, can’t wait to see more. Hopefully I’ll have something to contribute sometime soon...

Regards,

Kenneth Tam Brickley’s Cove
