I thought you were SLUGS, and the fests were StudFests.
And I don't know if there's any "official" inception date for MUG, but I
guess we could say 2001-01-26 as when we voted in our spokesman? MUGs wanna
comment?

I'm definitely a SLUG, the others may be studs as well.

In my little mind I'm a member of STUDS (capitalised, isn't an acronym, just
funny in a non-PC non-genderspecific in-joke kind of way) which is the Sydney
regional Lego Users Group (SLUG/SydLUG). Our bi-monthly gatherings are variously
STUDSfests (because they're our fests and we're members of STUDS) or Studfests
(because the bricks we play with have studs on them) -- I prefer STUDSfests.
SLUGS is a vaguely derogatory/self-deprecating term (depending on who says it)
that refers to the members of STUDS.

I think the first real meeting was mid 1999, Ben would know for sure, so I
would say that is the date.
Did we have the inaugural MLTC (VLTC) meeting yesterday?

Probably. I just wasn't sure when MUG was first uttered in this context...

Reckon so. And I just uploaded the track design to brickshelf, complete with
dead-end and suicide-loop! I'll do a write-up soon. (Got those pics Sue
Ann?)

Yes, a SLUGfest sounds like either:
1. a night at a French restaurant eating snails
2. an event of the World Wrestling Federation
It's up to you Sydneysiders, but does the self-image of being an eater of
molluscs or having the same IQ as a mollusc seem that appealing?
Be a man, not a mollusc, I say!
