Erik has already done a swell job with his thorough and well-illustrated
review, but I'd like to add a few small points that may be of interest.
This will be sketchy for now, since I only bought two sets at lunch and I'm
back at work now.

The accessories are really cool!  One thing I always hated about 25mm
miniatures was the ridiculous scale of the weapons.  Some of my human
figures were wielding short swords longer than the figures were tall!  The
new MB Dragons weapons aren't that large, but their baroque style is
reminiscent of them.  Still, I like them for variety, if not accuracy!

The minifig legs have better clutch points than standard MB minifigs.
Whereas the usual minis have raised grip points jutting from the backs of
the legs, the Dragons minis' legs are more similiar to LEGO, having two
stud-sized holes in each leg.

Erik was 100% on the mark about the stone-like 2x4 bricks.  They're very
cool, but there isn't yet enough variety to make too much use of them.
Perhaps in future releases we'll see 2x2 and 1x2 versions.

The POOPS are great!  Some of the castle architecture bits will be very
useful but (sorry Richard) their texture and detail will make them difficult
to model in LDraw.  Perhaps we can inline some POV code to create a stony
surface.

The BURPS are great! Again, Erik is completely correct that these are
better than conventional BURPS, since they're more useful than LOTR
Intelli-Blox and more cleverly detailed than LEGO BURPS.  Nifty!

The dragons are quite large!  I haven't yet put one together and can't
comment on the sturdiness of wings or limbs, but they tower over minifigs in
a way that LEGO dragons only wish that they could.

New Catalog!  For the first time in many moons, MegaBloks has seen fit to
include a current catalog with a new product.  Too often in the past I've
bought a new set only to find a catalog from two or three releases ago.
Frustrating!

Alas, that's all for now.  I'll post further info when I've had a chance
to roll around in the bricks a little more.

     Dave!

Rather than a review, this is a list of pros and cons of Megablocks Dragons. I picked up the $30 Sorcerer's Lair kit at Fortress TRU, Times Square, NY. You'll notice many of the pros are also cons. I've made a sample diorama I call "Turned to the (...) (22 years ago, 16-Jun-02, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)
