  Re: LUGs near cambridge

(...) Hi Joel, Almost all British AFOL activities are organised through the (URL) Brickish Association> so your best bet is to join that. There aren't any regional LUGs in England or Wales (arguably Scotland has one) but there are regional LTCs I (...) (18 years ago, 13-Jan-07, to lugnet.loc.uk.en, FTX)

  LUGs near cambridge

Hi everyone! My name is Joel, and I currently live in sweden. I recently got my acceptance letter from Cambridge University, so now it seems very likely that I'll be moving there in september. So basically, I'm wondering what LUGs there are near (...) (18 years ago, 13-Jan-07, to lugnet.loc.uk.en)

  Re: BBC "Day in pictures"

(...) That is from a series called 'Little Artists' made by a Mancunian artist pair (I think) John Cake and Darren Neave. It recreates famous British modern art pieces such as the shark by Damien Hurst and 'Everyone I have ever slept with' by Tracy (...)   Comments on first ever visit to legoland

Well, I finally got to go to legoland windsor last friday. A good day but I can't help feeling a little disappointed in places :-( Site itself is great - and bigger than I expected. We had our 3 yr old and a 3 month old baby so progress around the (...) (20 years ago, 5-Aug-04, to lugnet.legoland.windsor, lugnet.loc.uk.en)

The Brickish Association & events (was: Oct-Mar Legofest Any interest?)

I'd like to second Jon's comments, and add my own on some more general points. One of the aims of the Brickish Association is to build the AFOL community in the UK. Part of this is encouraging local groups to get together and organise their own (...) (22 years ago, 20-Jan-03, to lugnet.loc.uk.en, lugnet.loc.uk)

  Re: Oct-Mar Legofest Any interest?

(...) The general idea is that Fests are best organised locally but with our network of AFOLS, within or without the B.A., we can ensure it is well supported and possibly a better all round event as a result. The thing is, it needs a local (...) (22 years ago, 18-Jan-03, to lugnet.loc.uk.en)

  Re: Oct-Mar Legofest Any interest?

This all sounds very promising. If anyone "senior" wants to check the venue out for suitability I'm sure visits could be arranged. It also sounds like there are people willing and far more able to cope with the orgainisation of this, so again if you (...) (22 years ago, 17-Jan-03, to lugnet.loc.uk.en)

  Re: Oct-Mar Legofest Any interest?

(...) Nice one David, We are looking at potential NBLTC train displays for later this year - Northants is pretty central so it sounds promising. As Pete suggests, The Brickish Association has a discussion forum which should enable us to determine (...) (22 years ago, 16-Jan-03, to lugnet.loc.uk.en)

  Re: Oct-Mar Legofest Any interest?

Hi, I'm with Craig, I'll gladly help out with a display or two. Also, the Brickish site is affiliated with the excellent NBLTC, who certainly know about putting on a show! Pete (22 years ago, 16-Jan-03, to lugnet.loc.uk.en)

  Re: Oct-Mar Legofest Any interest?

I'm definitely interested. I should be able to lend my support, although it's hard to say what I'll be doing that far off. Have you announced the event at the Brickish site? Craig. (22 years ago, 16-Jan-03, to lugnet.loc.uk.en)

  Oct-Mar Legofest Any interest?

Following a local newspaper feature on my castle project and an appeal for somewhere for a display, I have discovered that I may well be able to have the use of local Clubhouse facilities (dance floor/function area, lounge/sitting area, bar, toilets (...)   Re: HELP!

(...) Hi Michael. Others may wish to step in to correct me but here's a little explanation of the UK AFOL situation. Despite there being a great group of people who get together for Fests and stuff there are still relatively few of us in the UK. The (...) (22 years ago, 31-Jul-02, to lugnet.loc.uk.en)
