Parting for Legoland Günzburg -- anyone else?

Hello,

after lots of bad weather it seems things are slowly getting better, and we
finalized our plan to spend tomorrow and Friday in LEGOLAND Germany, Günz-
burg. Unfortunately, this late announcement makes it impossible to arrange
specific appointments, but if anyone from the AFOL community happens to be
there one one or both of these days, I'd be happy to meet you.

There are basically two chances to find us:
- We, that is my ten year old son, my wife and me, will try hard to be
  at the entrance at opening time (10 am, their ads say) on both days.
  If you want to be sure to catch us there, be there in time as well,
  and do/wear something unusual. I will be wearing a white shirt with a
  small ITLUG logo (http://www.itlug.org/) on it, a black video bag,
  and most likely a yellow umbrella.
- If this is permitted (and not too expensive), we may be parking our
  small motorhome, a beige Hymer/Fiat alcove on their parking lot for
  two or three nights (starting tonight) and the days in between.
  Unless there are lots of other motorhomes, it should be easy to spot,
  because it is 3m high.

We have no very specific plans yet as for how we want to use the time in the
park. I will be sure to take a journey (including lots of photos and video)
to Miniland. Of course, we are also going to take quite a few rides on the
different attractions.

After Legoland, we will be on vacation for another few weeks, but after that
I will be sure to give those of you who haven't been able to join some
photos and/or videos to look at ...

Greetings

Horst

Hello everybody,

As I have announced here earlier, my family and me have been in LEGOLAND
Günzburg on August 8th and 9th. It seems nobody was at LEGOLAND Günzburg the
same time; at least I couldn't attract any of you with my yellow umbrella.
Anyway, we had great two days there (even though the first day I DID need
the umbrella not only to announce where I am ...).

Here is a collection of the most interesting pictures I took, sorted by
theme:

Miniland:

Sculptures:
  <http://horst-lehner.mausnet.de/lego/legoland/guenzburg/f1.html>

The video footage will take a bit longer to process, because I need to
finish a few older video projects in order to free up hard disk space ...

Greetings

Horst

Thanks Horst,

for sharing these with us: even if I have been in Guenzburg already, I have
missed most of the sculptures then (and not all have been published elswhere
so far). In may I have been basically in the miniland only (which attracts me
more than the bigger sized sculptures).

Hello everybody,

Now that I figured a way to quickly build those nice three-level web albums
from my digital photos, I thought I would put up some more pictures. This
batch isn't exactly fresh off the press (actually 2 years old) but still
potentially interesting for at least some of you, I think.

Mostly, these show some strange train creations, which resulted from very
funny small contests we conducted at each of the meetings, plus some of the
people who were present:

Como/Italy, 6/2000:
  <http://horst-lehner.mausnet.de/lego/treffen/f8.html>

Böblingen/Germany, 7/2000:
  <http://horst-lehner.mausnet.de/lego/treffen/f18.html>

For those of you who haven't seen it yet, there is also a QuickTime video on
my web site covering my personal LEGO year 2000, including the above two
events:
  <http://horst-lehner.mausnet.de/lego/LEGO_2000.mov>
You can download the 16MB video, or stream it over a channel bundled ISDN
(or faster) connection.

These pages and the video are also linked from my LEGO main page:

Have fun

Horst
