Hello all

LEGO Switzerland organizes from the 13.03. to the 18.03 in the FranzCarlWeber in
Zurich a small Lego-Technic-Show.
Besides, I was requested by a college to show my MOCs. Are issued my MAN with
winter service-equipment (seems to be topical at the moment, in switzerland we
had become a lot of snow last days), as well as the Walking excavator KAISER. On
Saturday 18.03 I will be present personally, and demonstrate my models.
In the next one there is to see also assembled models of Lego, or the mobile
crane 8421 (which there is to buy then hopefully also), as well as a play corner
for the small master builders.
Maybe there are some Lego-enthuastic will find the way there, would be nice to
get to know a few like-minded people.

With greetings from Switzerland

Hello European AFOL :-)

FreeLUG (French LUG) would like to do a big Great Ball Contraption at LEGOworld this year. we have about ten modules at this time.

To increase the size of this GBC, we would like to invite all AFOL, who planned to bring one or more module, to join us. We will make a good place for your modules :-)

If you don’t know what is a GBC module, read this http://www.teamhassenplug.org/GBC/. It is very easy to make one simple module ( and one module don’t take a lot of place :-) ).

So if you want to join us into a big GBC, please tell us (here or at my personal email : jlb@freelug.org ), so we can provide a place for your modules.

I hope to see a lot of GBC modules at LEGOWorld :-)

See you,

Jean-Louis Bergamo, member of FreeLUG

I'll be taking a week or two in June/July for 1000steine-Land 2004 in
Berlin, and I'm wondering what is the best (most economical) way to do
this.  I live in Boston and would like to leave Boston approximately
June 25 in the evening and return to Boston approximately July 12 in
the morning.

Friends here say I might find much better airfaires if I fly, say, KLM
to Amsterdam and take the train to Berlin and back or ride with someone
who is driving to the fest from Amsterdam, Frankfurt, or some other
relatively nearby city.

I'll be at 1000steine-Land as a photographer, working on a large coffee-
table art/book project I began over a year ago which is designed to expose
the general public to the amazing things adult LEGO enthusiasts build and
do.  Ideally, I'd like to meet with German LEGO fans before and after the
event, and if possible kind of float around nearby cities visiting people
in any or all of the Netherlands, Italy, France, Austria, Switzerland, etc.
I'll also be visiting the Netherlands later in the year for LEGO World and
hope to make it to Denmark to visit Byggepladen perhaps in the same trip.

Is anyone here from the Netherlands driving to Berlin, and would you
consider taking a passenger?  Are there other economical alternatives
besides Amsterdam?  Is the train expensive from Amsterdam to Germany?
Do I have to get a separate visa for each country I visit, or can I get
a two-week EU visa?  Where would be a good place for me to research all
of this online?

Thanks,
--Todd

Hi, on terrifically short notice I was told to fly to Zurich... I see the last
thing in the local Zurich group is actually my last post saying I was coming (in
2000) so I'm not necessarily too hopeful, but if you're in Zurich and would like
to get together, drop me an email or call my cell...

thanks!

+31(0)599 287 016
ericbrok@zonnet.nl
On 19 October there will be a symposium about the necessity to form a European
Federation or not.
To be able to organize events like Zwolle, LEGO asked the cooperation of the De
Bouwsteen.
Because our club is large and we have members from 5 till 95 years who do all
kinds of things with LEGO, it wasn't difficult to organize this event. But to be
copy this and do it in other countries will be difficult. Small clubs are not
familiar with organizing big events and are related to most one part of LEGO,
like Mindstorms or trains.
We want the clubs to unite and help each other of any kind of things, related at
LEGO bricks.
Time and place of the symposium will be announced later.

+31(0)43 363 802 2

If extra family is coming with you, the overnight cost 15,00euro per person per

Notice: you will sleep with someone else in the same room.
The only extra costs are 6,50euro for a sheet/towel package, but you can take it

There is a refrigerator, cooking-place, coffeemaker, TV etc.

General
The IJsselhallen is smoke-free area. Visitors are only allowed to smoke in the
restaurant. Employees and volunteers are not allowed to smoke where the visitors
can see it.
(there will be a special smoking area for the volunteers)

In the last two years we had NO steeling from our exhibiters and
second-hand-sellers. However LEGO itself had a huge amount missing things the
first year. Last year it was less, but still too much. The public still used
their fingers to look and unlucky a exhibiter too; he was removed.
It must be clear to all of our people to keep their hands in their pockets.
Otherwise they will removed from the event and will be discharged from the club.

We expect that you stay all days of the exhibition.

A barrier of 69 cm high will secure all exhibiters-places.

The emergency exits and equipments must stay free.

The price of (extra) tickets for the members of the De Bouwsteen and foreign
exhibiters (only family) are 8.50euro with a maximum of four. And
all-days-tickets are 18euro.

Hallo Paul,

I am not quite sure if everyone here is able to read Dutch?!!!

Hi Matthias,

Sorry for this inconvinience. I should have responded only to the Dutch
(lugnet.loc.nl) instead of all those country's.

Regards,
Ludo

Hello everybody,

De Bouwsteen is the Dutch LEGO users group and has currently almost 600
members. Amongst other activities, we organize three club events a year
and we are also actively participating in LEGO world, the biggest LEGO
event of Europe, with in the year 2002 over 37000 visitors in five days.

We would like to get in contact with as much as possible other LEGO user
groups in Europe (or people who are interested in starting up a LEGO
user group) to discuss the possibility of forming an European Federation
of LEGO user groups.

Hello everybody,

De Bouwsteen is the Dutch LEGO users group and has currently almost 600

event of Europe, with in the year 2002 over 37000 visitors in five days.

We would like to get in contact with as much as possible other LEGO user
groups in Europe (or people who are interested in starting up a LEGO
user group) to discuss the possibility of forming an European Federation
of LEGO user groups.

The purpose of this European Federation of LEGO user groups is to
exchange information about the organization of the different LEGO user
groups, the organization of events, as well small events as big events
like LEGO world, and also to synchronize agenda's to minimize the
overlap of events in different countries.

Another advantage of an European Federation of LEGO users group is that
it will be easier to communicate with LEGO and that white gaps are being
identified.

If you would like to discuss about the possibiliteis of an European
Federation of LEGO user groups, please contact me, Paul Koelewijn.

Hasta LuEGO,

Paul Koelewijn
President 'De Bouwsteen'
