hi!

Just stumbled across this old message.
One hour from BSB and one from Sarawak? KB by any chance?

I used to live in KB (Kuala Baleit) for some time around 1975. Though I have
more memories of Miri in the fourth devision of Sarwak if I remember that
correctly.

We kids were great LEGO fans and getting new sets was a great problem then.
Singapore was the only place they were regulary availiable. Not saying always.
Most of our sets were send from relatives in Europe for xmas or birthdays. We
did buy some atc sets though. Never heard of them again.

Hm, last message four years ago? Any other AFOL activity on the east coast of
Borneo?

Can anyone tell me where I can get the cheapest Mindstorm set in
S'pore?  And what is the price?  I can't remember whether Sogo was
selling them for $299 sing or $399 sing...

Thanks.

Simon.

I notice that there is a lugnet.starwars group, but other than that,
there aren't any other group concentrating specifically on a subtheme.
Isn't there enough traffic to justify the following:
lugnet.town
lugnet.space
lugnet.castle
lugnet.rail

Just a minor point, we do have this one... it's called lugnet.trains and
it even has a subgroup.

Trains and starwars. That's all you need. All the other themes suck
anyway. Just KIDDING, people... some of my best friends like castle (hi
Mike!) and space (hi Todd!).

Of course, you could have lugnet.<theme>.<subtheme> for example:
lugnet.town.extreme
lugnet.town.divers
lugnet.town.rescue
etc.

or

lugnet.space.classic
lugnet.space.futron
lugnet.space.mtron
ad infinitum...

What do you think?

Simon,
Here's a thread from March on a similar subject --

   http://www.lugnet.com/admin/general/?n=1193&t=i&v=b

Basically, the plan is to have a lugnet.lego.* sub-tree of the newsgroup
hierarchy, starting with all of the programmes and systems, and possibly
someday (if appropriate) branching down into individual themes.  Most likely,
the granularity will only ever go down to systems (space, castle, western,
etc.) in terms of newsgroups, and thematic sub-categories for the web pages.

Todd,

I don't know where to post this and I'm not too keen to email you, so I
thought I'll post this here and hope you still read this group.
