General info about the set which I needn't regurgitate for you:
http://guide.lugnet.com/set/10030

I recieved this on Wednesday night and commenced construction at 10pm. At
noon the next day, it was finished after having worked for 14 hours
non-stop. The building marathon was helped enormously by watching SW Ep IV &
VI while I was building.   :-)
There is a fair bit repetition on the detailing side, but the overall
construction isn't as boring as what some people were leading me to
believe - although one detailing element was repeated 16x for side seams.
One building step required so many technic pegs that the number required for
the step wasn't printed! (I'm wondering whether it was too many for their
CAD/printing software to handle.)

APPEARANCE:
It looks awesome (if you like the imposing greyness of Star Destroyers, that
is), at least from across the room. The tricky nature of the SNOT-like
angled-planes building means there are gaps that are kind of conspicuous
when you get up closer, though.

PARTS:
I'm not sure there is a Peeron inventory for this set, unfortunately I don't
have exact figures so I'll describe the primary parts I noticed...
If you build with grey then this set is a must-have. There are literally
dozens of 6xN plates in it (where N > 8), although I hope that you also like
the 6x12 "wing" plates because there are also a lot of those. There are
dozens of 1x16 Technic beams. The large number of Technic racks is also
nice - I can think of a few cool uses for those.
Most of the part count, though, appears to be in a mountain of small
detailing bits such as 1x1 levers, taps, grille tiles and 1x2 thinwalls. The
merits of owning this many of these parts are dubious. Good luck to the
Bricklinkers...  ;-)
When parted out, the light grey space wheels used on the main engines are
going to be a hot item, as only three occur in this set. The two shield
domes on top are ingenuously made with a Space Port asteroid lower half with
a faceted dome on top (no new elements).

CONSTRUCTION:
I'm rather disappointed with the construction method, which is both flimsy
(the top levels just sit on top rather than connect) and also uses magnets
to keep the panels on - the latter being a bad point in my book. The whole
thing is very hard to pick up without risking the collapse of the panelled
underside. Fortunately as a display piece this isn't hugely relevant, but
it's still annoying.

OVERALL:
Overall, I'm glad I bought it, but wasn't the marvel I hoped it'd be, more
of a novelty - I'll probably keep it built for a few weeks, then demolish it
and never build it again. After all, it IS a goldmine of grey plates and
parts.
Recommended only if you build with lots of grey, and/or worship the Imperial
Star Destroyer.

(...) Flimsy indeed. Mine kept breaking apart as I tried to assemble it. Much cursing and swearing was required. Finally when I had just got the thing finished, I sat back exhausted and then my cat walked past, put her paw onto the side of it, and (...)
