  Re: News from California

(...) Scott- I always though when I moved to CA from CT once-upon-a-time that I was moving to the land of earthquakes, not fires, but over the years the fires have really dominated (of course, that will probably change when the long overdue BIG ONE (...)   Re: News from California

(...) Glad to hear that everything is alright, I knew that section of the fire was terribly close to the Michon compound. I was worried #1 about you guys and your safety, but also #2 about the toxic cloud that would have covered all of Irvine if all (...) (17 years ago, 24-Oct-07, to lugnet.legoland.california, FTX)

  Re: News from California

(...) Joe- Thanks for your kind thoughts. The "excitement" for us was Sunday night when the fire started around 18:00 and built very quickly. The air outside our house looked like a Hollywood London fog punctuated only by street lights. No ash, but (...) (17 years ago, 24-Oct-07, to lugnet.legoland.california, FTX)

  News from California

LEGOLAND California is closed today due to the fires in Southern California. Interstate 5 and the associated railroad tracks from Oceanside to San Clemente were shut down at 02:00 this morning, cutting off access to the park from north of San Diego. (...)   Re: SCLTC goes Red, White, and Boom! at LEGOLAND California

(...) I am sure you sweat your worth as you worked! Hot hot hot I know. Funny thing is the park-goers probably didn't know what great building skills you and your family have! I am a big fan of the US Flag, so seeing such a nice version made from (...) (17 years ago, 3-Jul-07, to lugnet.trains.org.scltc, lugnet.legoland.california, FTX)

Re: SCLTC goes Red, White, and Boom! at LEGOLAND California

(...) Eric- After we finished putting it up Friday night, Susan and I could not resist going back the next day to see visitor reactions. It is certainly a be must-take photo-op spot.   Re: Legoland CA building a hotel

So here is a two-year follow up on the Legoland CA hotel: The hotel was talked about back in Jan 2006 by Nick Varney as posted in this thread: (URL) construction looks to be going on NOW! The construction back by the water tower area behind the park (...) (17 years ago, 7-May-07, to lugnet.legoland.california)

Re: Miniland Models To Be Auctioned For Charity

(...) Maybe thats why they added the fence, under the front legs it has a steel beam that is hidden by the fence rail and the box on the front. The box was for people to put entries in the "How many pieces" contest that they would have at the (...) (17 years ago, 4-Apr-07, to lugnet.legoland.california)

Re: Miniland Models To Be Auctioned For Charity

(...) Funny! I remember that funny horse model, sitting at the now defunct shows and events building in Enfield, waiting to be repaired, the legs were way to slim to carry the weight of the body. Plus the steel piece kept breaking. That was 10 years (...) (17 years ago, 4-Apr-07, to lugnet.legoland.california)

Re: Miniland Models To Be Auctioned For Charity

Re: Miniland Models To Be Auctioned For Charity

(...) This is a change, yes and no. Several years ago I bought a glue together castle on ebay. I got an email from a lawyer at Lego saying they wanted the model back to destroy it. Of course I said no way. The lawyer then proceeded to tell me that (...) (17 years ago, 3-Apr-07, to lugnet.legoland.california)

Re: Miniland Models To Be Auctioned For Charity

(...) Times do change. Proceeds from the sale go to charity, so it's double-helpful! Adult fans get to own a piece of the dream, kids get help- and Legoland gets extra publicity- that's triple-helpful! Tim (17 years ago, 3-Apr-07, to lugnet.legoland.california, FTX)

Re: Miniland Models To Be Auctioned For Charity

(...) Its interesting to see that there has been a shift in the ideals of the company, where "Only The Best is good enough", and a tough policy on destruction of old models that DO NOT represent the Lego brand and values, to the extent of (...)
