Well, to all those who got a copy, have fun with them. ;) Certainly one of
the better Technic sets Lego has produced, and a great source for parts too.
For those who missed this, Super Cars are frequently available on ebay these
days (probably the second most common pre-1999 Technic item) but you will
have to pay around $200 or so for an MISB set.
Thanks for the offer here though. Let us know if you find any other sets
like this... *cough* 8868, 5571 *cough* :D

I didn't hear about the Super Car find until I got home yesterday, about
8 hours after it sold out. So this morning I hit some garage sales,
and found nothing spectacular, large gray baseplate for a buck,
bucket only filled two inches deep with mostly freestyle for another buck.
But later on driving home from the music store after renting a violin
for the kid I happened to see a yard sale sign so I stopped. And
there on the lawn was a very dusty partially built 8880 sitting
atop its instructions and box. The sticker said $5. Of course it's only
coincidence, but in eight years of garage saleing this is the first time
I've seen one-- so it's the kind of coincidence I love!

By comparison, how much were S@H selling them for?
