"The [LEGO attraction playset] toys were rumored to be part of a nation-wide
marketing launch for Disneyland's 50th anniversary. [Among some of the
concepts are a Disneyland castle, and Pirates of the Caribbean, Tarzan's
Treehouse and Big Thunder playsets.]
There were even ideas of building a whole Lego Disneyland that would tour
the country to promote both Disneyland's 50th and the new product launch -
it was to be called "Building the Dream, Disneyland's 50th Anniversary."
Isn't that cool! [They appear] awesome."
I know my wife (a big Disney fan) has been hoping LEGO would do this for a
while.

I'd be interested in the Space Mountain playset, if they could come up with
a way to make one!

I'm thinking something like the Tower of Terror or Star Tours (done with
Technic style mechanics)
Space Mountain could be done if there was a way to use flex cables to make a
track. And if they did that, Rockn Roller Coaster could be done.
And this would be a GREAT excuse to pull out the Monorail...

So anyone know any links to any Disney related Lego creations?
Joe
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | These are not real sets, but fun pictures to look at.
They were not given to me by TLC, or anyone who works for them.

Hmm, an interesting set of pictures. Two very nice sets, a stock set
re-boxed, and a non-LEGO image used as a set.
Where can I buy the Treehouse and Thunder Mountain... :-) :-)

I agree! I would love to get these two. I was always a big fan of Swiss
Family Robinson when I was a kid. Both of these are wonderful MOCs. Any
chance we can find out the name of the creator?

'fraid not. I don't know any more than I've already said. But, judging by
the "limitless" use of elements, I think they look suspiciously like models
I've seen in The Mall of America and traveling truck shows.
My main reason for sharing was for the coolness of the Mountain and
Treehouse models. Those two make me drool. they have so many great pieces,
and their design/building really impresses me.
I love how the little figs are visitors in the theme park! And the tracks of
the ride are really clever. But would they actually work?
I love the distorted photography of the mountain set. And the Pirate picture
is so moody. They did a great job of capturing the essence of theme-park
experience without excessive mechanics. (IMHO)

Wow! Nice stuff done, even if it's unofficial. Who did it, or am I allowed to
ask?:) Good job on the packaging, it looks pretty close to what I would think
the packaging would be.
Geez, there's a Disney page just opened here too...WAY TOO COOL, because I just
built a MOC from a Disney flick...guess I'll post there soon!

Thanks for sharing those! I knew they weren't real when I saw the piece
counts... It was building Cindy's castle that reactiveated me and it took a
lot more than 463 pieces. :-)
Whoever did them has gotten just the right blend of elements in the
packaging though... pretty nifty.
I want Big Thunder most, of course... all that brown and tan and orangebrown!!!

| Suz et all,
These are extremely impressive (The Former Swiss Family Robinson[1] Tree
House and Big Thunder especially).
I too echo the cry, "Who Did It?" I'd love to see some more detailed pics
of the Big Thunder Engine and cars especially.
I've always dreamt of building a replica of the Haunted Mansion on New
Orleans Square, but my collection isn't really up to it. Maybe I'll work it
out in LDraw instead. :)

[1] D@#* Disney's NEW movie tie-in mind...Always messing with the classics[2]
[2] Of which Haunted Mansion and Pirates o' the Carribean are next (Will be
converted into movies starting next year)
